So what? Some people in the world earn obscene amounts of money, it’s the way the world is and nothing will change it.
45% is plenty enough tax. You can’t be taking over half of peoples earnings off of them.

With the amount they're making it's about time the UK had some legislation similar to Australia to stop bookies from banning or limiting winning players.
Currently they might be willing to accept X amount from a known big losing player, Y from a random punter and Z from a known winning player, where X>Y>Z (and Z is some tiny amount) when to be fair, if they're willing to trade at a given price and for a given size they should be agnostic re: which customer lifts their offer... if they're happy to accept up to say £500 then they should accept it then move the price if they feel the need.

Of course you can. Even if you set the threshold significantly higher - say 5 mil is now 50%, that's still more than money than you can spend.
Everyone wants this society where we pay nurses et al decent wages, and schools aren't having to fight for every single penny... But no-one wants to pay for it.

It is a lot of money, but the fact is she’s contributing far more to the tax pot than everyone on this forum put together (most probably), so I hope she enjoys it.

Well that would require a competent government to ensure loopholes like that don't exist. But in reality the rich aren't going to do that, they've got nice homes, and nice social places to go, and plenty of friends and what not in this country. Otherwise they'd have already moved to somewhere like Monaco.
I'm not saying absolutely rinse them, and I'm more than happy for people to be earning insane wages, but there has to be a fair amount of tax paid on those earnings.
As is always though, it's the middle class earners that get squeezed.

Fair play to her, she started the business. Took a risk, took a huge loan to fund it. Made it one of the biggest bookies in the world.
I just wish they’d be more controls on accounts before they close them down. It’s ridiculous that as soon as an account has a couple of +EV bets it’s closed down but someone could ***** 50k a night a not one word is spoken about it - yes they are there to make money but there should be a min limit on winning accounts before they can refuse bets - although as i say that they have a right to refuse any bets etc but damn they take full adv of that.

She had a net salary of about 225million last year. If she was taxed at 50% that'd probably drop to about 210million. That 15 million loss I guarantee she wouldn't even notice, and would pay for nearly 500 extra nurses.

Wouldn’t it be more like £130 million? Yeah a lot money still but what have the state done to deserve the £120 million?
Well they get a significant chunk of middle earners money, so why should these even wealthier people escape it?
