US: Better Call Saul

So are we to assume the b&w scenes at the beginning are how his life is now post-Heisenberg? It looked pretty dismal :(

Was a great first episode though! Quite what has happened at the end there is very interesting.

My predictions:
the treasurer's wife has been stealing money to fund Tuco's rise in the drug world on which she'll then get a nice return on the investment.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Also I assume after this week it will be one ep a week on a Sunday?
 
edit: Holy crap, where did the time go? I thought it was a 30 minute program, it was an hour, that absolutely flew by! :eek:

Saw it on a site around Christmas time not sure which site, but it's definitely not up all in one go.

It's not a Netflix show, it's an AMC one. Only their own originals get put up in one go which this isn't. The UK Netflix has the same deal as for this as they did with Breaking Bad and The Killing (both also AMC), the episodes will be up the morning after they air in the US each week.
 
It's probably wise to not judge the whole show yet but indeed, we have a solid grounding from BB and some familiar faces have already cropped up and some good backstory is developing just from episode 1. usually most shows tend to slowly drip feed backstory but the creators know that we know what is what and aren't hanging around. I like this pacing so far.

It will definitely be interesting to see where those characters fit into the story and timeline and the show progresses.

The same cool quirks that made me enjoy BB and a pretty sweet musical score throughout as well as the classic BB colour tone to the print made everything feel familiar.

It may even be reason to re-watch BB at some point soon just to pick up on some early bit in the series that might cross reference to Saul. need to see a few more episodes to decide for sure though.

Really enjoyed it and am looking forward to episode 2 tomorrow!
 
I thought that was good! I think this could be good when they start bringing mike etc into it but the first episode was definitely a teaser!

Looking forward to tomorrows :D
