US: Better Call Saul

I really do enjoy this series. I find it to be the best slow burner on TV but...as others said, I almost thought he was gonna go 'Saul' in the last ep and every show can only go for so long before the audience is ready for the timeline to catch up. Hope they only make the show as long as necessary.

Uh...do you pay attention at all?

Jimmy stole $14k from his own family and indirectly caused the death of their father.

Chuck worked his butt off to become a highly respected lawyer and a partner of a firm, and Jimmy got his law degree through an online program; Jimmy thought that made them peers, when it seems like it made Chuck almost embarrassed to be in the same profession as Jimmy.

Jimmy's methods/morals are shady at best, which are the complete opposite of Chuck's "straight as an arrow/the law is sacred" personality.

Jimmy has also just basically become a boss at a law firm, so once again like the law degree, Chuck might take it as another thing that he had to work his butt off to achieve, but Jimmy just does this on a whim and thinks "now we're equals" sort of thing.

Jimmy may be the main character in this series, but he's a deeply flawed character.

uh i know all that ( (if you look at my original quote?) I mention the thing with his Dad I said?

Chuck is just as flawed as Jimmy. He may "think" he is on straight and narrow but he can be just as devious, he a lawyer at the end of the day. He preaches Jimmy about misleading customers yet the last episode a perfect example how he mislead the big clients back HHM when Howard even admitted they never heard of them until Kim worked her ass off and gifted them on a platter. They know nothing of Loyalty. Is it Morally right to ice Kim because of Jimmy? What about Jimmy taking care of the creep all those years when Chuck was suffering at home with no one to take care of him.

The way you said it just came off like it was a little trivial issue they had, and it should be easy for Chuck to forgive him. I would say stealing tens of thousands from your own parent's livelihood, which causes them to lose their business and eventually kills them is a big enough reason alone for Chuck to be incredibly resentful towards Jimmy.

hehe it was rhetorical :)

I know it may seem to be like that but imo you got to remember that was how Chuck remember it. Now i am not saying for a moment Jimmy had nothing to do with it, he played a big part.

If you recall in the flashback in the shop, when Jimmy was a kid. He told his dad "the whole town knows where to come for some free cash" and his dad was still naive enough to fall for it time and time again. It was really how he managed his business which was his utlimate downfall. Jimmy didnt help and contributed which i can understand Chucks feelings.

But what was done to Kim is totally wrong and against the straight and narrow attitude that Chuck so preciouslly upholds and protects. He is a complete hypocrite. Howard is the one that was punishing Kim but Chuck is just as gulity for doing nothing, if he so good, so just, why does he allow this travesty to happen?

I think in Season 1 we thought it would be Season 2.

I personally think it is quite odd the pace they've chosen. Watching lawyers fight over clients, for me isn't what I was expecting to watch. It's not like I feel like I can't wait for the next episode.

I'll still watch, it's still an okay show, just a bit slow...

Wowzers!!!

I had a feel something like this might happen, but wow. I do agree a little that the pace had stalled but todays was a defintely much better.

I know this isn't breaking bad, but that was my favourite show at the time. Unfortunately better call saul isn't my current favourite.....things like 11.22.63, lucifier, the affair, hell....even scandal are significantly better than this. It's not that bad.....it just isn't that good.

Seriously?

You prefer ham acting with predictable storylines?

I binned lucifer & 11.22.63 after 3 or 4 episodes, they just became unbearably dull. I can't say the same about BCS, the characters and storylines are great and brilliantly engaging. Vince Gilligan can't do any wrong.

Really enjoying this. It's one of the few shows I'm surprised and intrigued by the story. Most stories are dull and predictable these days.

Looks like Hector may have a heart condition, which may explain how he ends up the way he does.

if it isn't for you stop watching it, you don't sound like you are enjoying it much. it's not like there aren't other tv shows out there. i am loving it though and the development of the characters and their stories are fab :) can't wait to see what happens next.

in some ways i even prefer it to BB.

I think the pace is brilliant. Grips me every episode, not every TV show needs to go at 100mph and then repeat itself every season.

This is clearly telling a story from start to finish, unlike most TV shows recently.
