US: Better Call Saul

I thought that was a bit odd myself, far too abrupt?
I thought that was the point.
We've had 6 seasons of Jimmy and he is now dead.
We learn the complete switch to Saul is through multiple traumatic events in quick succession and the switch is instant to mask it all.\

and of course it also marks the end of the BCS era.

6 seasons of waiting to see how Jimmy became Saul and not once did I think it would be in the most depressing way they could do. All the ideas people had of Kim dying or doing something extreme and she walks away from Jimmy because she doesn't like who's become.

The last 4 episodes are going to be interesting.

Your spoiler is a bit confusing.

Did you mean
"She doesn't like who they've become"

I don't think that is the last we will see of her though.

I did, more on Kim's side, Jimmy always had the signs of being this way and it not being a huge stretch to get there, Kim has gradually fallen down the hole from S1 and if you look back is nowhere near the same person she once was.

True, but it was hard to get a sense of her as a person in Season 1 - Career driven, professional but didn't really seem to be alive.

She's had more fun with Jimmy/Saul but then resents that word (the way she says it again) because of what has happened with Howard and Salamanca.

Thought it was a great episode myself, as to the abruptness of it, they had to do something to move the story along and Kim's ease with lying to Howard's wife was a perfect explanation in her choice to leave Jimmy for me.

It's worth noting that she'll be back, as when the guys playing Howard and lalo left there was a big song and dance by the show that there's not been with Kim.

Bit of a weird episode. Not sure how it fits into the bigger picture.

I kind of get that "he never changes, he changes his name but he'll always be Slippin' Jimmy" and all that, but it seemed like a very time consuming way of re-iterating that point, which is kind of already done to death

Tbf we've been having flashes of Gene since the start so I sort of had a feeling we'd get a episode or 2 of Gene to wrap all that storyline up. As popular as BCS is I doubt they'll want to go a full sequel with Gene. That is if he survives to the end.

that episode felt like a filler when being so close to ending the series :(

Yes and no, fans (myself included) are curious to see what happened to Gene after the ending of BB. We've seen Jimmy become Saul and the events that led up to it. There is nothing left in the main story arc to "fill in" the time between where we are in BCS and when he meets Walt for the first time. We've already seen his fall from grace, there's very little left to show on that side. The only logical next step is to show what happens to Gene after the BB story arc and whether he ever gets his karma for past behaviour.

Enjoyed that episode. One thing that bugs me is why is this thread in the US tv shows forum. Its aired on Netflix UK.

Edit: Just checked. Same with the walking dead, its on Disney+. many more shows are on streaming services in the UK that are in this thread. Is there a need for the US tv shows sub forums nowadays?

I guess the idea is the US subforum is for US-produced TV shows, and with OCUK being based in the UK, the "normal" TV board is for UK-produced shows.

I do agree though that there isn't much point in separating the two, but hey-ho.

Pretty sure it was created because people were torrenting US Tv shows and posting about them a week in advance of the UK getting them. Thus leading to spoilers and a grey area in torrents, how ever nowadays, pretty much all TV shows US or Uk are now freely streamable on one platform or another.
