BF Hardline Visceral Games

We don't know for sure it will be £50 yet - it's not on sale.

Thanks for the link.

I stand by what I said - I'll see what the full game is like before passing judgement.

To be fair, you wouldn't know what to look for anyway.

Can you not see that it's - CURRENTLY - a re-skinned BF4? Can you see that? Seriously...??? Yes or no?

IMHO and I stress - only IMHO - if you pay full price for this title or pre-order it, you deserve every bug you get!

Inbefore Josh pre-orders at full price :D:D:D:D

Enjoying hardlines at the moment, but no more than I enjoy BF4 (whilst not being annoyed by all the bugs). But no way is this anymore than a £10 dlc/expansion pack and for that reason will not be purchasing at Full RRP or anywhere near the RRP.

Battlefield Vietnam was still fun even though it was 1942 with Vietnam mod. Battlefield 2142 was BF2 with a future mod.

The fact it's BF4 with cops and robbers mod doesn't mean it will be a bad game. It may still actually be fun depending upon what they do. Titan mode defined 2142 and was one of the reasons 2142 was so much fun despite being a BF2 mod

Haven't bothered trying it, but everything ive seen and read says its a DLC expansion, in the same way we had BF Bad Company 2 and its Vietnam DLC. It wasnt a map pack for BC2, it was a reskin with new maps (only 4 iirc), weapons, vehicles etc.
This would have better done as a £15/$20 DLC, with just 4 maps, and then release more maps as paid DLC. Instead they want full price for a mod, and the community will speak with 2 words - F--- No!

But i really dont see why people are pounding £60! £60! £60! Its £50 unless you want to be more stupid than you'd have to be to buy it in the first place, and we all know there'll be plenty of sites selling it for around £25-35 before launch anyway. Yes, its not worthy of being a full price title, but why people are obsessing with £60, while selectively focusing only on the more expensive version, is beyond me. If you want it, it'll be available for around half that before launch anyway.

I'll be waiting till its down to about £10-15, it wouldnt surprise me to see it added as a free game with future AMD GPUs in some form, so i'd imagine there'll be a load going cheap before long. Even then, it'll only get bought if i know others are playing it, cos i cba playing the beta as those who have it got it a day earlier than me and used a bunch of 4 letter words to describe it, and i cba playing it on my own.

I think its quite a fun game, put a few hours into the beta, I cant see it being worth more than £20 though so I'll buy it when its cheap

Only thing that annoys me with it is squads seem pointless and teamwork is even more nonexistent than the other BF games

I bought BF4 and Premium, played for about 2 hours and that's it so mm yeh will be missing this, totally done with all this military shooter crap. Got a DK2 coming within 2 months so will be spending most of my time with that.

Oh look what I found :D and you should have taken on board your own advise Mr I Pat my Bach. Franchise is dead because you done the exact opposite. :p

Annual Battlefield would Kill Franchise
Published on August 3rd, 2011

DICE’s Patrick Bach has suggested that the team has no plans to release a new Battlefield game next year, saying that releasing a Battlefield game each year “will eventually kill the franchise”.

“The business goals for us are not to release a game every year,” said Battlefield 3′s Executive Producer talking to GamerZines last week.

“To us, we need the time to be able to create the next game that consumers will hopefully like. If we were to release another big Battlefield title next year, that would mean that we’d have less than a year to build it, and that would mean that we’d have to have another studio building it for us, which would mean it wouldn’t have that DICE seal of approval, which would mean they’d just have to release a copy of the game we just released. Ugh, no.

“EA would never force us to release a game every year. I think that would dilute the vision of the franchise, and you will eventually kill the franchise by doing that.”

But when asked whether EA could adopt a similar model to Activision, which sees two different studios rotating work on Call of Duty to ensure a new title is released each year, Bach said that while possible “in theory, that would be the day”.

“I know for sure that there aren’t any discussions about doing that,” he continued. “That would be the killing blow for the franchise.”

It was suggested in June that EA would alternate its Battlefield and Medal of Honor series’ each year, suggesting a new Medal of Honor game may be poised for a 2012 launch.

Bach did suggest, however, that instead of continually pumping out new releases, creating big expansions for Battlefield 3, similar to what the studio did with Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s Vietnam expansion, may be the way forward.

“What we noticed with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was that if you spend enough time on making an expansion pack like Vietnam there’s enough content to make it feel new and fresh. It’s not only a map pack, it’s weapons and vehicles, and it makes the game feel fresh again.

“I think that’s a more healthy way of expanding on the game experience. It’s not a new game but a twist on your old game, and I think that’s a healthier way of looking at a franchise rather than just trying to cram every single last penny out of it.”

its no different to the other "We will never charge for DLC comments" he made around that time.

Its obvious for all to see that Bach had different ideas for the franchise than the board at EA. EA is the boss however, so they get their way and bach ends up looking a tit and having to go back on what he's said.

If they flesh it out, and have decent maps for it, it could be a lot of fun.
At the moment however parts of the interface are clunky/awful and should just use the BF4 UI elements instead, and the one map that they have provided so far, while it is nice is far to small for a 32 player match.

Whether it's worth purchase or not, is a decision I'll make after keeping my eye on it's progress over the next 5 months.

Been playing for a bit now and im starting to warm to heist. Yes, it is just an expansion for BF4 in the same vein as Battlefield 2142.

I'm sure it'll be nice to pick this up on the cheap shortly after release or hopefully they offer it to BF4 players for cheaper (hopefully eh? hah!)

I got beta access, downloaded it, tried to join a game, sat there for ages doing nothing. Tried a few more servers and eventually a window opens bit like a TV news cast with scrolly at the bottom and just sat there with that for ten minutes doing nowt.

Uninstalled it.

LOL you were just joining the game :D

Anyone who buys this at full price Is an idiot.

That sounds harsh and don't get me wrong, I have made my fair share of stupid purchases and pre-orders in my time but this is simply a re-skin of Battlefield 4. It should be DLC and nothing more.
