BF2: [OcUK] vs =50K= MKII

It looks like I'm going to have to pull out I'm afraid, I can't even patch BF2 without it crashing so I can't play. :(

Unless someone wants to lend me some RAM. :p

EDIT: Scrap the above for now. Just managed to install the first patch, going to try the rest now. :)

well i was playing with my m8 on a UK 64 player ranked server, we was using xfire for voice comms. we was both in a squad, i was the leader. he tried pressing the default key button for speaking in bf2 but the rest of the squad couldnt hear him.

that coulda been his fault due to incorrect key assignments, but when im in a squad and press v the speech icon on the right hand side doesnt come up. it only comes up when im squad leader.

I think it may be worth having a quick read of your BF2 Manual amigo, the default keys are:

B - Can only be used when in a squad and can be used by ALL members of a squad to talk to each other, inlcuding the squad leader. (tho sum people may not hear u if they have VOIP disabled, but this is true of below as well)

V - Can ONLY be used by squad leaders and allows you to talk directly to the commander. The rest of your squad wont hear what you say when u press V and they cannot use it to talk to the commander, Squad leaders ONLY can use the V channel.

I tried using voip today and no joy.
My mic works in windows, it works in the voip setup program but nothing in BF2, anyone got any ideas how to fix this? I'd like to be on voip for this match.

Be sure that uv'e enabled VOIP in the BF2 options screen.

Also, ensure you dont have your mic plugged into the front for case. It must be directly into your sound card/on board sound as for sum reason BF2 doesnt like any other connection.

Aye, got it turned on and the mic is plugged straight into the sound card. I get the green speaker icon in game when I press talk but no-one can hear.

i would prefer to use BF2 VOIP, its ideal for talking both to other squad members and the squad leader and if you are the squad leader the commander.... dont know why anyone is complaining about it tbh. never used TS either and as already been said why use TS when BF2 VOIP is adequate.

I suggest those who are playing check their systems on the 50K servers prior to the match including voip, might help solve any teething problems.

Hopefully everyone will still be ok for the game?

Is it on a ranked server?

No, the second you put a password on a ranked server it becomes unranked. (whilst the server will normally be ranked, obviously we have to put a password on it for our games)

Unfortunately fellas I am going to have to drop out :(

I leave my job in 2 weeks and this Thursday night is the only night I can get everybody in my department together for a leaving do. Gutted about it really but not much I can do about it

I haven't played for a while so I would probably be more of a liability than anything else really :p

Best of luck to both sets of players and I hope you enjoy it. I will just have to wait for Episode III now!!!!

Glad it is unranked.

Means play should be more 'natural' without the worry of, IT IS ONLY 2 POINTS!!!!11 some people may have.

I agreed im glad its not ranked just gonna rush every flag now. i think we need to finalize some stuff now like squads and whos using BF2 Voip & TS.

I will be using TS.

I think we should operate a have a couple of people on every flag we hold policy, to prevent the cheap steals behind our lines.

What I do on EA UK servers and can pick up 20 kills with my sniper rifle :D

We need to get some plan of action that isnt complicated and is highly generic.

One thing though, people in tanks / jeeps should not just drive off by themselves, at least take one passenger where apropriate.

Squads should also operate as squads, not be split up to much.

Noni = Plane
Chopper = /
Squad Leaders = / /

yeah we do need some sort of plan, otherwise we will be running round like headless chicknes getting mowed down. The question is who's going to do a plan.....

In games like this its all about tickets not points.

An Example....

In a normal game, u see a guy about to revive a teammate u just killed. Most would WAIT for him to be revived, then kill them both again (for the points). In a clan game (or game like this) you dont, under any circumstances wait, you kill the medic. The reason being that if the medic revives him, the enemy team doesnt lose a ticket for the death of the guy that he revived. Whereas if u kill the medic, the guy he was about to revived dies (-1 ticket) then the medic also dies/dissapears (another -1)

Ive just realised im helping the enemy  , i think ill keep quiet from now on. :D

I do agree with the squads bit you said tho, a squad that works together is much more effective. Also could people spot things aswell, only once tho i hate it when its spotted 10 times by the commander, and when we do spot the jets could the people in r jets take them down, dont just go on a one man mission.
