Ok found this on another forum ....

In a world exclusive event, on Friday the 20th of June, a massive bombshell was dropped on netGameRadio's 'The Inside Battlefield Show'. In an exclusive world first soaring interview, it was confirmed that on Monday, the 23rd of June, to coincide with Battlefield 2's third birthday, gamers will see an announcement regarding a new patch coupled with exciting original maps.

The interview was directly with John Hargelid, a Live Producer from DICE, Sweden, who confirmed that support for Battlefield 2 is not over, and that an announcement regarding a possible new patch and maps will be announced on Monday. The question that was directly answered included references to a patch, maps, and gaming modes.

The last patch was paid for by Intel and the patches before that were to accommodate expansion packs you were supposed to buy so whats this one about ?

Does any one else smell bull ****?

Nope.

This would make excellent PR/Promo work for Battlefield Heroes/BF3 whenever it is released.

Theyre not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.. this is E.A were talking about, they are doing it as a promotional excercise although new maps/content fixes are allways welcome whatever the reasons.

Well with all the accounts that were (and still are) being hacked and now also the serious issue of BF2 servers being crashed I just hope they sort these two problems and anything else will be a bonus

Whilst 'The Inside Battlefield Show' has been, to date, a local production for the value of our listener base in Australia and New Zealand, netGameRadio received world wide gaming press attention with the release of this information. Planet Battlefield, Total Gaming Network, GameTrailers, BF2s, Gamespot, i3d, and local ISP Internode, are all talking about our recent interview with DICE, and eagerly awaiting the announcement on Monday.
Some of these mediums have also hosted the file locally and in their own audio streaming server, with key references pointing to the interview. A BF2s member has also created a YouTube link for people wanting to hear the most important snippet of the night.
This download has now reached, in excess, of over 720 downloads on nGR's local server, not to count all the views and downloads from the fore-mentioned external sources. It's quite possible that the interview could have now reached to the tens of thousands of Battlefield 2 fans. This would make, this particular Battlefield 2 specific media interview file, Australia and New Zealand's most sought after and requested media file in the shout-casting industry.
It was apparent that netGameRadio's download servers were being hit extremely hard, during the spread of this news, when we had to fall back to our emergency file host provider in order to cater for the mass downloads.
Both RDNx (netGameRadio Managing Director) and johnny_sisko (Business and Marketing Manager), have been completely blown away by the acknowledgment of our dedication to Battlefield gaming, not only from DICE by giving us this world first exclusive, but by the communities extremely positive response to our ventures.
This media attention puts nGR on the world map, as we continue to push forward to be at the fore-front of information and entertainment for the online gamer
ANYONE WANT ANYMORE PROOF ?

I smell cheap advertising for this "NetGameRadio" place, is that the same thing? Are we supposed to care about this "nGR" now? I've never heard of them prior to this and it seems like they're the ones doing all the shouting...

Well you can hardly blame them for wanting to capitalise on what is a fairly significant bit of gaming news about a very popular game.

i play it bf2 aswell. i have stuck with my usual and fav maps for a while now, im talking gulf of oman, karkland and one or two others. glad to see bf2 isnt been killed off yet.

however i honestly never liked the bf2 patching system when in some cases reinstalling the game and all... of the patches is required. real pain to download, setup everything again etc

Would be grate and yeah for EA/DICE would be a great promotion for there other releases.
But a lot of fixes need to be done and just cant see the main issues being fixed, i.e F35's need a fighting chance, there basically screwed if they manage to get up and well a lot of things need fixing.
