BF2 Scene

I joined em' because their IO server is amongst the best and most organised team based servers I've ever played on. They're an excellent bunch too. Good laugh on vent and good players in general.

We do also have a smaller server that runs vehichles and we do occassionally switch the big server over to vehicles too.
 
Aint played BF2 for ages, I play 2142 quite a bit, really into that at the moment. May well give it a go soon.

Wakes PLA's Z-10 and Sharqi's MEC MI-28 are affected the most by this, wonder why that is :rolleyes: .

How can there be more maturity in a game? get a grip mate!

I have got to say that i have played both games more than most ppl and 2142 is just not in the same league as bf2! thats why there is more ppl playing bf2 every day than what there is on 2142 but hey its personal choice what u like the best between them! The reason ppl hang around the heli spawn points is so we can own ppl in them and we love it!:)

The reason i dont play it anymore, i play 2142 all the time and i love it. I have been playing it since the day it came out and i have only been TK'd once for a Chopper and that was last night. BF2 you get TK'd all the time.

time put into a game doesnt make you the authority on it, nor do stats etc, its down to preference ,
theres more people playing css or WoW so using your logic they are better games , not
i think BF2 and 2142 are great for many diff reasons, but i play 2142 a hell of a lot more atm as its more rewarding,
with none of the idiot behaviour many dislike BF2 for

I've got to agree with you that there's a lot less of that behaviour in BF2142 than in BF2 really; no spawn camping, no gunship whoring (or very little), much less tank whoring, etc. It's quite refreshing really :)
 
I fancy playing this again, might 'just' run on a 9600xt, but am a bit comfuddled about what I'll need to update it to the latest version, can i just download the 1.41 full install patch or do i need 1.1, 1.2 etc first?

Well with all your crap comments about vanilla i thought you knew what you were talking about. As you haven't played it in over a year then you obviously don't.
You haven't experienced IO servers or the scene nowadays but still you **** it off.
Strange attitude for someone who is trying to promote something.
 
I still play BF Vietnam from time to time and thats still gots loads of servers around, love the 'tunes' from game and tbh was allmost best thing about it. :)
 
With BF2 the fun is in getting better and faster. It's all a matter of practise and more practise.... Teamplay is the key...

I would like to see some more desert-maps released (e.g. remakes of El Alamain, Gazala, Dust Bowl)

BF2 is still THE game for me.. (I play it from release date!!)
 
In general its still pretty good, just need to make sure that you try and find servers that have admins on, usually makes the idiots think twice and if they dont they get booted.

Usually pretty busy and have some decent players on.

My own clans servers are generally idiot free when they are busy (search -=YakuzA=-), uncap attacks disallowed and commanders not allowed to fly / use tanks.
 
You talk about idiots well i experienced a few this morning. Yes i was playing this morning, i am on a Big promo drive at the mo and have passed the score but still need to rock on till i get promoted.
Anyway i am always squad leader and kick out anyone that doesn't spawn with me or follow orders, this gets me a decent squad most of the time. This morning i had a superb squad and the 6 of us were scoring around 250 - 350 + points a round. Totally dominating the game and enemy.
The idiots i am on about are the 13 guys that continually voted to kick me. Pathetic, they cannot beat me and my squad so they continually initiate a kick vote. Perhaps if they stopped whinging and typing BS they may be more effective on the battlefield.
To much talk, not enouth fighting for the absolute Lose.
 
lol played on a server other day called =GVS= or something, because I destroyed admins helicopter twice in a totally legal place but very easily he kicked me for being a "lamer"

btw malc, I think you needed the remaining vet badges to get brigadier general?

Don't know about that as it says i am due two promos. One i won't get because of lack of badges but i thought i would get the next one as it does not indicate any requirements.
I have only just played the game since day one and never gone for badges, i have just got them as and when i get them ingame. I won't start badge chasing now as i think this is detrimental to my enjoyment.
Basically i just like running around in a gang shooting the bejesus out of enemy, if this gets me badges then cool but if not i am not fazed.

One thing though is my ground defence is bugged, i have set out for this badge once or twice and just sat there whilst i go for a cuppa tea, i never get it no matter what i did or killed.
To late nowadays as i am only seen on IO servers. I went on a vehicle server last night and it was well noisy, i selected a squad to join that needed a medic and spawn with my squad leader, he shot me with an AT rocket :p
I left and went IO steaming.
 
2 Star general requires 1 Star General rank first, just had a quick looky on BF2player.

clicky and hover over the 2 stars, shows the reqs

Cant stand vehicles on most of the city maps anymore, much prefer infantry only for them come to think of it I cant even remember the last time I played karkand with vehicles :p, but I do still love me J10 on the airmaps :D
