I am getting 60fps with everything maxed out at 1080p on a single 6870 at stock clocks. CPU i5-2500k@ stock clocks, 8gb DDR3.
No need for cards like 6990 if only running one monitor at 1920x1200.
Rubbish!

I would prefer an ATI card as that's what I have now, minimal fuss with drivers. Also, I'd rather not spend the entire budget and keep it to a single card if possible.Single card? A GTX570 and overclock the snot out of it.
If two, a pair of Sapphire 6950 Toxics.
Rubbish!
but in parts it felt like it was at 40fps even though fraps said it was 70+, have noticed this in other games... high FPS but feels like 30-40, i assume its just a crossfire issue?
Why is this game running 40fps+ on absolute max settings on my 6850? I thought this was a card killer.
edit:
seems to drop a bit more, more like 30fps+.
Because it isn't a card killer. It has been hyped up massively in order to drive hardware sales, particularly when it is not that long before we see the next generation of GPU's early next year.
People like to buy into it as well because in their minds it justifies them using two 580's in SLI at 1920x1200 on a single monitor.
'BF3 will NEED 2x580 in SLI to run at ultra settings at 60fps' will it ********.
Makes me want eyefinity, but only got single 6950, and if it takes 6990 and 6970 to run medium, think I better give it a miss![]()
If crossfire is a nonsense then tri-fire is! Don't judge it yet
Eyefinity is sooooooooooooooo nice though
Considering most of our results it seems your the one talking tosh!
Turn off motion blur
5850 CF seems to do a good job for me with the right settings. I'm using 11.10 preview drivers and my res is 1680x1050. I'm sure there will be plenty of optimizations from Dice and from ATI before release so hopefully we can see some improvements.
Settings
Fraps recorded FPS benchmark, taken during the first portion of metro outside.
Cheers, will try that tonight! I had no idea motion blur could have that effect though?
