BF3 Beta FPS thread

Just had a fun play. Starting to enjoy it :). Very atmospheric and the sound is great.

Graphics i still think are a bit hit and miss. Some gorgeous parts, some really naff parts.

Need more variety though! Cant see me playing 10 days of just rush on this map. Bring back Caspian Border!

Settings on high, res 1920x1080 getting between 40-50fps with vsync either on or off on sig rig

At least we have reason now to upgrade, this doesn't have the feel of a console port for a change [y]

I've just done some more testing and tbh at 2560x1440 it's pretty unplayable in closecombat firefights when it dips below 40 frames on medium and high. On 1920x1080 it's fine @ high but it looks really ugly and blurry on my big screen... But I guess only SLI GTX 580 can fix this... but I'm not gonna invest in that.

Just had a couple of rounds @ 2560x1600 and playing on default settings 60-70 outside and 80-90 inside ... crank up the settings and when it hits the 30s this game is unplayable for me .. cards are unlocked & clocked @ 950/1450. And like others I seem to be missing bits of the HUD!

Playing with every thing on high here here besides anti alliasing post, that's on medium (1680 / 1050 resolution)

I'm running a Q6000 (3ghz) - 4GB of XMS3 and a 6870 running at 950mhz / 1100mhz.

Seems to run quite smooth on metro, I'm yet to try caspian. I'm getting probably lowest 40fps outside and 60fps (lowest) inside.

Runs surprisingly well in my opinion.

I'm using Ati Drivers 11.10 (open beta preview ones).

6990 @ stock
i7 920 @ 4.2ghz
1920x1200
Average - 100fps indoors (80-120) 60-100fps outdoors

This is what i am seeing with 1920x1200 but outside i am more 35-40 and inside more 50's. I am running all ultra bar high shadows. I just cant understand how other 6870's with lower spec pc's are running better. Its not just me though as gtx580's are reporting lower fps than lower spec cards. Seems like its not amd or nvidia specific.

all these guys with their dual setups. :/ Makes me want to switch to 560 ti 2gb SLI, 6950 2gb xfire, or a single 580.

I think the best decision would be to wait til 28nm though. What's the latest news on that? Feb, march 2012?

I was tempted by a SB upgrade but decided the money would be better spent on a new gpu. Got a decent amount for my 5870 which made my 6990 upgrade cost £200 ( i got lucky :D). As for 28nm, i think any dates that are floating about a q1 release are unrealistic and your looking at q2 2012 at the soonest for the enthusiast parts.

Yes please :D

Particularly could you get some around the middle of the map near the sandbags looking into the map where the FPS is at its slowest due to all the smoke and stuff.

Only briefly played it but i'll try my best, everything ultra and max aa/af etc?

I think it varies a lot at the moment and they need to do further optimisation, people's result seem so random and there appears to be no pattern at all.

Averaged about 60fps, minimum fps I saw was low/mid 50's high was in the mid 70's, hope i took them in the right area. I also took some moving at speed so you can see moving fps instead of just a static view, pictures i'm jumping in :)
