Catalystmaker tweeted the other day that the earlier CAPs shouldn't' be used with 11.0 preview, just on it's own until 11.10 CAPs are released.

Aye, just saw that tweet.

They've released 11.9 CAP1 now though and this is supposed to be working just fine (includes a BF3 Beta profile).

With the Catalyst 11.10 driver - don't install any existing CAP with it (upcoming CAP this week can be installed though)

It's a bit confusing actually as on Rage3D website it says that it should be used with Catalyst 11.9 rather than 11.10 Preview but Catalystmaker said:

On 27th of September.

Mind=blown.

Im thinking of upgrading to a monitor that does 1080p (my current one does 1680x1050). Is 1680x1050 to 1080P to a massive jump and will it require a lot more GPU power? Im happy I can play BF3 beta at 70fps a 1680x1050, can I still have this resolution on a 27" monitor?

1920x1080 is only a 17.5% jump in pixel count from 1680x1050 - not a large difference at all.

For comparison purposes, 2560x1440 is a 77.5% increase in pixel count from 1920x1080. Now that is a large difference.

Of course there are plenty of 27" 1920x1080 monitors on the market:

Would a jump from 1680x1050 to 1080p have a significant impact on performance? I've looked at some benchmarks of 5850 in Crossfire and I have a feeling I'll see a drop of just 5fps. Is that realistic?

Why have you?

No I've not updated anything, there's nothing to update lol

Was just wondering if they had done anything specifically which may answer the increased performance they are possibly getting.

Thank you blackninja, your results appear to be similar to mine although I have a different and possibly slower CPU.

Are your cards overclocked at all?

elrasho, I notice a drop of about 10 or so fps when going up from 1680x1050 to 1080.

Thanks mate, 10fps is too much of a drop for me think I'll stick to playing at 1680x1050. Neither of my cards are overlcocked. I have overclocked my i5 750 from 2.6Ghz to 3.2Ghz.

Use MSI Afterburner

950 on the cores, but not much extra on the RAM because one of my cards didn't like it which is frustrating because IIRC it should be good for 1300mhz.
