The Geek humour is stereotypical geek humour, while it is funny it seems to lack any true merit.

Is this show directed(spell it for me) by the same person that did Roseanne? As most of the same actor are in it. Leonard/Johnny was Darlenes boyfriend. Sheldons mum was Jackie, Roseannes sister.

Its produced by Chuck Lorre, who did Roseanne yes.

Its actually done by Lorre and Bill Prady, they did Two and A Half Men together as well.

I love the show - think it is great, not everyone's cup of tea though I can tell.

Peoples opinion isn't fact no, but it is a fact that i nthe 3 or maybe 4 episodes I managed to force myself to sit through due to extreme boredom there wasn't one original thought, idea or joke in the entire time. Everything is done before, the acting is woeful, script terrible, idea's dull and done 100 times before. It lacked anything remotely original and you can see every single joke coming a mile before it happened.

For me its one of the single worst shows to come out in a long time. How I met Your Mother has some original moments, its one of the few shows to make jokes you won't get for half a series, and bring up seemingly pointless bits from half a series, or 2 series before and use them to make a great joke. Its nowhere near as good as the first series and other than Barney everyones been dull for 2 years.

Two and a half men is drivel, non original pap aswell but its a damn site more watchable than Big Bang Theory because its got better actors, but is still not particularly good at all.

But its not geek humour at all, its supposed to be laughing at geeks. It does so by creating a bunch of extremely unlikable and stereotyped characters acting in an 'painted by numbers' way through a series of situations.

Its just a massive cliche, its painful. With The Mighty Boosh, another show which divides opinions, I have to admit I at least smirk on occation. I just feel embarrassed watching TBBT.

I know it is very stereotypical but gawd is it funnny, Sheldon's rants are easily one of the funniest things I ever seen/heard in my life. Love it. And Penny is win.
