An OcUK meet would certainly be good, I think andi rides a lot up there so either he or yourself could do some guiding? :D

It's blood long for me! The last time I was on the bike was 2 weeks ago, did a lap of the Gisburn red which is only about 18km and that was nackering enough :D

I'm just uploading some pics. There were definitely a good mix of descents on that ride, some of my favourite parts are on the exposed moorland areas where you have to get on the right line or risk going OTB in a rut/colliding with sheep turd, when its dry you can almost treat bits like a pump track, the Cut Gate path is ace for this.

Stans flow on which hubs?
Flow rims are super light!

They might be light, I just might be comparing then to the loan wheel I had which was a super light rim :D I'm going to weigh them tonight to be sure though.

Stans Crest are their super light rims I think. I was going to go for those but there's debate over whether they have a weight limit or not, and being a bit of a fatty I didn't want to take the risk.

I only know 2 routes around the Peaks, one of 24 miles and the other 34 miles, both of which are similar but the longer one loops around Ladybower and both start and finish in Hope. I've only riden up there a few times so I might not be the best guide, but those 2 routes are really good, the second especially, but you need to have the legs for sure.

Ok, I've weighed them on the postage scales at work which is accurate to the gram.

They weigh as follows.

Front = 911g

Back = 1002g

The advertised weight was 1900g for the pair so its about right, but I still think they are heavy. Is that heavy or am I being stupid?

Anyone know how much their wheels weighed when they got them?

I'm obviously interested in a Peaks trip.

This year would be better than next (why wait?) but the weather could become a problem as I imagine many routes get pretty boggy. It would also be good to get some input from others who have ridden in the Peaks a lot to see if we can get a best of the best bits route together :D

That's partly why I suggested wait until next year. The conditions up there are turn nasty after and during rain and it can be quite dangerous and exposed.

My new wheelset turned up. I went for the Stans Flow in black but they seem really heavy!!

They're not at all heavy, for what they are- the Flow's in the same class as your Mavic 521s etc but is also tubeless. Or if you prefer, lighter stronger and wider than the Mavic 819 which Mavic claim is in the same class.

Not many rims that are trailbike-light yet win downhill world cups.

But if you want lighter ones, by all means sell 'em to me and replace with Crests or similiar ;)

I said they felt heavy, but I think maybe its just me. My mate who has some EN521s on Hope Hubs says his wheels weigh about 2kgs. Mine weight less than that ~1900g

I rode this route yesterday in the Peak District:
How does that compare to the route I did Ande?

It was supposed to be a loop of Lady-bower but we got completely lost. :D
