Went out for a ride again today (Set myself a target to go every morning for a month, to give my fitness a boost.) and this Hardtail just get's more and more fun! Easily the best choice I've ever made going for a Steel LTHT. Just need to order a Dropper post now.. After deciding which to go for :)

Look at the Kindshock Lev.

Abus Granit

But yeah.. You really don't want to be leaving that kind of priced bike locked up anywhere other than your garage/house. Get yourself a cheap -£500 bike for commuting.

ONe of the Pragmasis chains? They seem pretty strong (and you can get £50 or £100 ones)

Probably this. Aren't they a bit massive to carry to the shops though?
It's never a good idea to take expensive bikes into town, a big enough bolt cutter will go through anything.

Cheers guys, the 1-2k bike figure i threw out there was a high ball park figure at best, - As it stands i only ever lock my bike up in high traffic areas with at least 3 CCTV pointing in that direction (town centre is good for that) they have a camera which is always pointing at the entrance which as it happens is where the bike rack things are.

As for lock size not really an issue always bung it in my backpack, just getting more paranoid the more new parts i put on it lol (456 Evo)

If weight and size aren't an issue get an Almax chain and lock. Will set you back around £120 I think. I've got one on my motorbike and another on my Pitch in my kitchen as well as a Kryptonite New York lock and cable. Had my last bike nicked from my kitchen so not taking any chances this time round! :D

Not a chance I'd leave it locked up outside anywhere though even with that lock on it..

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at that kindshock lev, no need with the reverb as I already know all about that one. Can't wait to get one though, sick of messing about with the seat every 5 Mins!

You should probably be more worried about someone stealing it for parts then. No matter how big a lock and chain you put on it it'll only take a few seconds to cut through the frame.

If you need to leave it alone somewhere outside where you can't see it then just get a cheap hack bike.

I've never seen the section before, been Cannock about 5 times between July 2011 and now, maybe I've missed it every time. Definitely more fun than the long downhill fire road any how!

Cant wait to go in the dry now, just hope we get some dry this year!:confused:

Cannock is good - I really enjoy the upper and lower cliff sections in the woods just before you descend back to the railway crossing on the way back. The downhill section on the way to the railway crossing at the beginning is pretty good too :)

My least favourite section is the wood bank where you have several rock gardens also with an option of a black downhill section. The problem is the angle of entry into the rock gardens IMO is pretty poor (sharp left hander leading to right hander) leading usually to me either sliding down said rock garden with feet out of pedals or once over the handlebars.

I've only ever cycled it once when it has been pouring with rain and it wasn't much fun especially in the pebbly areas with the bike losing traction pretty often. Its a nice and fast track in the dry that is for sure.

Reverb is the only real choice, the other droppers compete for second place.

Especially at this price

Crikey, even I'm tempted at that price! I've always told myself that I don't need a dropper post though

Not knowing much about this dropper post malarkey I've a few questions if anyone can help?

My current seatpost is 400mm in length but I find myself using probably only the bottom 100mm of range. For example I push the tube as far in to the frame as possible for a low setting and then only extend it around 100mm out for a comfortable high setting.

I see these Reverb's on offer are the 420mm version, is that the length of the post when extended to it's maximum or when dropped to a minimum? I don't want to spend my hard earned on one to find my seat post in a range that's unusable.

I don't suppose anyone is after a set of 150mm Rockshox Revelation forks? RLT version, 2011 9mm QR.
Looking to sell them to get somehting a bit more DH orientated
