I gave it a read through seems expensive for what it is, and shifting suffers due to the range..

Heard the same, but this is "theoretically the shifting is worse" ... would like to try it myself and see whether you would notice any sort of difference.

Yeah, "shifting is worse" on type 2 and shadow + but the benefits out way that. I'm also interested in how high a gear xx1 can cope with, cant the mech cope with a bigger gear than is currently available?

The limiter screws on the mechs allow for quite a bit of movement, so I think it will go up to any size casette available.

Im craving a HT bike think i would go 2x10 on that and build it up light and for xc/trail centres.

I presume as long as the shifters, mech and cassette are matching (i.e SRAM) the crankset/chain can be shimano or anything basically?

Cassette doesnt even need to match, i use sram rear everything, shimano front everything and sram shifters.

Thanks - spot a decent deal on some barely used SRAM X0 stuff that is tempting me!

The only two things that need to match are the rear mech and its shifter.

We don't stock small items, only order to build onto custom builds.
We're "kinda" opening a bricks & mortar shop, so it gives us access to brands and items we wouldn't usually be able to, they will be stocking small parts.

Only hardtails we sell are the Shans, but the shop sells Ragley and the like (we are all big into steel HTs). The Shans only 2 frames left until May/June (med and large), though I'm not sure that's what you're after.

Maybe wait for an independent review from a UK based site / magazine to gauge whether it's for you?

Thats not strictly true sram attack and rocket work with shimano. Its a good idea to go by that rule though to avoid any incompatability.

Keep looking at the on one 456 either carbon or ti, its still only an idea though it may not happen at all.

Sram Attacks where specifically made to work with shimano mechs so of course they do! plus they are based on x7 and so are for poor people and irrelevant

But the convention is the actuation's are not compatible.

The Carbon is a harsher ride than both the Steel and Ti, though the Ti is supposed to be the most supple out of the 3

Can you guys recommend any rear mounted bike racks for my car, 308 hatch. I have been looking at the Saris Gran Fondo or the Bones RS but if you have anything that will suit I would appreciate the advice. Cheers
