How do you guys bed your pads in, just changed mine and nearly crashed at the lack of power.

If only BOS had as much support as Fox and Rockshox.

I go up and down my road 10-15 times, build up decent speed and then brake hard (but don't lock) turn around and repeat. It's always done the trick. May need to do it for a bit longer if the discs/pads are very cold.

How is it worse? Can't say I noticed my shifting being worse when I got my shadow + mech

That's my point..it's "supposed to be" worse, given that there's more interference/resistance...but I've not noticed anything in real world conditions. The conditions are different on the Internet though :)

Here are a few snaps from last weekends ride at Balblair:

Go for a ride :p you can do the whole riding up and down the road braking malarky but thats kinda boring tbh. Go for a ride, take it a bit easy on the downs and you'll be bed in in no time.

It's time for a new bike. I have two bikes, a very nice road bike and an old hardtail I use daily for by ~3 mile each way commute across town. This 2nd bike (2002 Kona Blast) is at the end of it's life and needs replacing.

I'm looking for another hardtail as my the route is fairly fiddly, curbs, bridges, short bits of cycle track, couple steep climbs - the longest bit of simple straight road is only around 200m. I'd like to get a 29er though as I'm 6'3" but run fairly narrow/slick/high pressure tyres. Is there any issue putting 700x35, 80-90psi tyres on 29er rims?

Can anyone recommend a half decent 29er for a city hack for under £800?

Can you guys recommend any rear mounted bike racks for my car, 308 hatch. I have been looking at the Saris Gran Fondo or the Bones RS but if you have anything that will suit I would appreciate the advice. Cheers

I can definitely recommend the Thule Raceway 2. The most secure and easy to mount of this kind of rack I've seen/used etc.
