Talk to me about eyewear.. Any glasses (no endurbro goggles) people recommend? Had a few close calls with stones recently.

some Foakleys from Aliexpress. (fake oakleys)

Look like the real thing, and I've been very impressed with them. Cost about £14 including postage. Spare lenses, hard case, etc etc

specific seller? (after ther jersey fiasco keen to find recommended sellers)

FYI, if anyone is looking for a good strap on bike carrier, I've just got a Thule Freeway (968) 3 bike carrier for £44 delivered - £35 off rrp.

I needed one with a high weight limit for my ebike and just test fitted it to the car and it will do the job :-)

I wont link here but there's a seller on the bay and one on the rainforest.

To be honest, I think the sizing thing is down to the model of shirt you've bought (3/4 ruckus). Everyone on my local hill is wearing Hoy at the moment, and all the long sleeve ones are spot on.

Meh.....Used boot carriers for a fair few years and always found them to be a PITA. Can't beat a good set of aero roof bars with Mont Blanc Barracudas plonked on 'em. Ridiculously easy to fit the bikes to even on your own and secure as a very secure thing. :D

I fitted my Thule WingBar Edges and ProRide 591s last night and now I have a horrible whistle at 40mph+ :(

I'm guessing that the rubber isn't inserted quite right (that's what she said).

I'd say that's the only downside to using roof bars. Since they were invented, man has looked for ways to stop/reduce the whistle they make to no avail. Mine whistle at low speed around town ranging between 30-40mph ish. Above that for some reason, they are fine. And the whistling is more pronounced when driving the car without any bikes fitted for some bizarre reason.

Just keep the windows up and turn up the radio a wee bit. Warm days require the aircon to be switched on!

Damn :( I do have a gap under the ProRide 591s that I need to put rubber in, so I'm really hoping that it helps. If I close the sunroof's blind then I can't hear the noise.

Roof bars are bad! Noisy, cane fuel economy. No good for headsets and seals.

Vans are great. But slower and not always as practical as an every day car.

Had 4 people and 3 bikes INSIDE the cmax. And 1 bike on a bike rack on the back. :D

so somehow ive shredded the rubber seal on my rear skewer that stops crud getting into my driveside ABP pivot bearing (as per nut side on this)..

looks like a normal rubber O ring to me that then sits in the corresponding recess in the ABP pivot nut (see this).

i reckon i could get away with any old hardware store O ring (obv the right diameter) rather than forking £20 on a new skewer?

not sure how its ended up in a state, the O ring makes the nut side of the skewer retain in the frame so it doesn't even get removed when taking the wheel out.
