Like the Bird Zero ;)

Like all sensible bikes.
Stealth routing is brillaint, but internal cable routing (gears etc), is just pure gash. It's a chore to work on, it's a chore to get through, it makes noise ... and did I mention it's a chore to work on?

A mate had it in his, and I nearly freaked out numerous occasions at the thing in my garage.

been thinking about drivetrain this afternoon and whether or not to move to 1x10. although i do quite a lot of climbing so dont want to lose any low gearing. dont mind sacrificing some top speed.

basically at the moment i have:

SLX Twin Crankset (36/22t) w/ Hope Bash Guard, SRAM x5 3x9 shifters, 10sp SLX Shadow+ Mech, SRAM PG990 (11-34), SRAM PC991 Hollow pin Chain

So bits i would need:

new chainring prob narrow/wide about 32t ?
new 10sp cassette
new 10sp chain
range expander on the cassette ?
new 10sp shifter

bits to sell to help fund:

x5 shifters
front mech (deore?)
chain + cassette
bash guard

not really sure what sort of gearing to go for, whether the range expander is a good idea?

I have a Hope 40T Cassette Expander on my XT 11-36 Cassette. Swapped out the 17T for it. I'm using a 32T middle.

I only use it on very steep climbs, HeartBreak Hill at kirroughtree for example.

Annoying how a complete Shimano XT Cassette is £29 but a single 40T Cassette ring is £53 :/

So essentially..

Narrow wide 32t - £40 (hope, but they all seem the same price)
Cassette expander - £53 (hope)
Cassette - £30 (XT 11-36)
Chain - £17 (XT)
Shifter - £29 (XT)

All in - £170
