You'll want to stick about three cable ties on the Chainstray (sic ;)) protector, like one in the middle and one at each end, or it'll fall off :p

Clever :) and manage to find some black cable strays so done !

I cannot for the life of me work out how the rear shock works on that. Does it stretch it out or something? Can't see how it would turn the up movement into compressing the shock.

Looks pretty special though :)

RL: That bike looks great :D

(My avalance 2 disc would clearly destroy it though ;) )

Yeh the scott shock is a pull shock...like the old rockshox one that always blew up.

Hit a nice ride on Sunday. 30 miles cross country and some very hilly terrain.

Started here and cycled to and around the point you can see in the distance:

Was a stony ride throughout:

I Was out on sunday too, but only managed about 20 miles over saddleworth moors.

Was throwing it down and blowing a gale (Horizontal rain from the side) - one side of my face went so cold it was like i had had a stroke - just couldn't talk!

Then on the downhill i hit a rock badly and ended up face first in a load of nettles  .

but a good day all round :D

Nice pics Duradrum ! What bike do you ride?

Ta - this one:

Fitted some bigger rotors and had the chance to test them. They stop. Quick. My mate in the pic has a computer, not sure which one it is, will ask him.

Nice Giant XTC SX, lovely Hardtail that. I thoughtt the rotors they were a bit big for Giant MPH ! :D My Hayes Sole brakes stop as well, only have to lightly squease them, glad i got them over V-brakes now.

p.s. I got the same saddle too:p

I've got them brakes aswell, considering they're bottom the range they stop suprisingly well.
Probably going to be something I upgrade in the future though.

I've been looking at the Cateye Micro Wireless. It has all the basic functions and seems to get good reviews.

I'm also looking for some lights and a helmet - any suggestions ?

I got some lights from my LBS for £10, came with both rear and head lights and batteries. Made by Electron, the head lights can do both normal bulb or LEDs (to save batteries but still bright) with 4 settings for each, the rear has 4 settings too.

Helmet, I'd say Met 5th Element. For lights, well its up to you, but I'd choose the latest kit, which happens to be Cateye's EL530 and LD1100. I have the EL500 and the LD1000, and they're pretty damn good, although the 530 is over 1500 candlepower compared to the 1000 of the 500, so I might get it :).
