You are paying extra for the Carbon fibre hub and the Aerolite spokes which provide next to no performance gain over conventional spokes.
The Aerolite spokes save over 100g over the standard ones. Given that people buy XTR cranksets at £280+ to save similar amounts of weight over a £90 SLX set then it's defo not next to no performance gain, especially on the wheels ;)

Edit: Hope Pro 2's are great for scaring walkers on the trail. :p
And for giving the rider a major headache :p

That's why I use DT Revolution Spokes ;). Only 5g heavier and considerably cheaper than the Aerolites.

You learn to love them.
DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA

Gave my bike a tune up at the weekend, rides so much better. Lesson learned though, don't ride in the sea. Also don't go so long without tuning it up again.

Still, i think it should get me a few months more until i can inherit my dad's bike.

From what I have read, last years Enduro is a better bike even with the poor Specialized shock < It's the only thing I would change out. One of my pals loves his Enduro even though the bearings in the rear hub have gone twice in a year and he had a nightmare with the brakes. I think he was maybe just a bit unlucky.

Unfortunately there's no DH bikes in that budget range - and given that Stab is £2K ish new, you can get a helluva lot more bike for your money for £2k

With the small budget I was looking at 3-4 year old Big Hit's and Stinky's etc, it was doable but finding a good one was a needle in a haystack.

The Stab's spec is quite reasonable for the cost, and I know that I could get a lot more bike for the price (Used Session etc), but if I go to that money it's going to have to be a finance jobby which rules out used bikes, and the Stab suits that budget really well.

Will be giving it a test on Saturday morning ;)

How do you rate the Thule rack Andy?
My mate is buying one soon - but I just cant get my head around it solely relying on the tow bar clamp to hold bikes on it!

Saw an Enduro on the way to work just now - I wants :(

Rack seems good tbh, only tried it with mine on but will be taking a pair out on saturday.

My MPG will be sub 15 i reckon :(

On a plus side im about to order those Recon SL's woop woop

Will be getting the bike shop to fit them I think.

Andy

Thule towbar racks are excellent. Shouldn't effect your MPG at all hardly, especially on a car shaped like that.
