Not a very old frame. It's a 2002 Kona Lavadome.

There are some nice USE Alien posts, but they're well over 50 quid. I'll keep looking. I've started trying to find US retailers that will ship here, but I'll probably end up incurring customs fees knowing my luck, so it's probably not worth it.

The system ex posts are actually very good for the price have one in the garage that i used for a long time has the same milling pattern as my thompson post :). A tennor for a 400mm alloy post cant go wrong!

Fitted Di2, it is amazing..excuse the poor setting of the pics.

Will take proper pics when these arrive ;)

yeah, it's on a 27 cog, which is the max capacity of the RD, i was checking the indexing for the 100th time :P

Going to swap the casette out for a more respectable range, going to run this one for now.

The shifting is pretty special, it's more or less instant and so smooth. The shifters are a bit odd feeling (coming from solid DA 7800 and Ultegra SL STIs) as it's like a playstation pad or something, but it's pretty cool. Proper ride this weekend hopefully.

Does it not feel really weird shifting electronically, rafster?. I'm thinking it would take a good few runs to get used to Di2?.

I'm not jealous btw. :p :D

I am now the proud (or rather guilty..poor wallet) owner of some Hope Tech m4s  Got them for £225, they're brand new but have just been sat in a guy's garage for a while. A new set went for £312 the other day so I don't think I've done bad?

Braided cables, front 203 and rear 180 rotors. I'm going to look into getting the master cylinders, adjusting knobs and calipers anodized red when they arrive.

If anyone's interested in some Hayes Stroker Trail carbon brakes then let me know :D

I covered a reasonable distance on my bike on Sunday (pretty standard mountain bike) and after 20 or so miles out of 30 miles I could barely sit down as the seat was so uncomfortable :(

What saddles are people using to stay comfortable for long trips? My budget would probably be up to around £50 or so for a good saddle as it makes the bike almost useless for that sort of distance if it's always going to be that bad.

Nice! Pics needed! I would have loved some Hopes, but ended up upgrading my Juicy 3s to Elixir R's. Just over £160 in total.

It's a personal choice as everyones sit bones are different. Fizik Gobi is very comfy and fits into your price range. A few people here like the SDG Bel air too. People think my Selle Italia SLR Gel flow looks uncomfy but it isn't at all. It does look out of place on my bike though. :D

Phil, I have tried quite a few different saddles over the years such as Prologo, Selle Italia and laterly a Fizik Arione which was like sitting on a razor blade if I'm honest!!. As already said, its all subjective and depends on the individual. Currently using a Specialized Alias 143mm on my Pinarello road bike and quite frankly I'm amazed at the comfort it affords :-

It has been superb right from the word "go" and for such a light weight saddle it really is quite startling how comfy it can be. If you are considering a Specialized saddle of any sort, get your LBS to measure your sit bones to determine what width you need. Majority of folk are fine on the "middle" size of 143mm but again, depends on the individual. Measuring your sit bones to match the saddle width can make a big difference to comfort, well worth doing IMO.

The Specialized Alias, although predominantly used on road type bikes, would not look out of place on an MTB. I'm looking to get one for my Cube Acid at some point soon, although the standard seat it came with isn't too bad anyway.

Also, have a look around - Some LBS will let you take a saddle away and try before you buy.

I have found both the Fizik Gobi and Charge Spoon (you could get Ti rails within budget) to be very comfy for long rides.
