Aye I've been reading about it as my knowledge is lacking(I don't do TT/Tri myself) and I've read anything from 20mph aero makes a big difference.

I fancy getting myself a road bike when I clear my overdraft. Something not to aggressive. I've never ridden drops but I guess I'd get used to it and would end up more efficient than a 700c hybrid like the Gt traffic or felt Qx 90.

I like the look of this http://www.cyclelane.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s6p2303 as it's 105 and I don't think I'm good enough to feel the difference in ultegra or Dura-ace. Sadly It's at the top of my budget even at trade+vat :mad:

I would like to - but probably not until next year.

Problem with triathlon is that i'm not very good at running and im struggling to find time to improve it because im out with my cycling club tuesday, thursday and sunday and running takes too much out of my legs and needs at least 2 days until i'm back to top speed on my bike.

I think it's not so much the aero of the bike that makes the difference but the aero position that the geometry gives the rider.

up to now I have found the foes range to be really ugly, but that is super sexy!

I've known a few people with older Foes, they just weigh a ton and I wouldn't want to be locked into using a curnutt.

Ok guys, how screwed am I? I've received all my tools today so took off the cassette to give it a clean, chain wheels etc. I had some new brakes, so removed the front rotor and attached and torqued the 6 bolts up, no problem at all.

On the rear though, they came undone very easily, and the helicoils I think they are came out, small metal spirals. When I came to put the new bolts in I manually hand fed them in to make sure the bit ok, and it all seemed fine, they seemd to be threaded correctly, got them all nipped up to the rotor but not torqued, got my torque wrench out and tried tightening them to 6NM as the manual states. Well I probably got to 2NM hardly tightened them at all and the first bolt gave way, the feeling you get when you strip a thread.
Same for every one of the bolts, I tried one more bolt from another set to discount the bolts and that too felt threaded, so it has to be the holes. Now will I need a new hub? I really hope not.
Or are those metal spirals replaceable and will they help? I could get it re tapped but don't know who would be able to do it.

Helicoils in a disk hub? That can't be good surely. I would hunt the person down who sold you the hub/wheel/bike and beat them with a big stick.

Perhaps they weren't and they were simply the stripped thread from the bolt hole? But I doubt it. I'll post a pic of what they look like.

That was what came out after removing the factory installed rotor bolts.

Weird.

Rotor bolts normally have blue loctite on them, to hold them in place.

Yeah the rotor bolts did have blue loctite on them, I was surprised to find the above in the holes though. Maybe be time for a new hub

I need to save up to buy a new wheel set at some point though.

Which Barbieri chain cleaner would you recommend? They do a basic, Pro and a Tornado. The Tornado looks like a Muc-Off one that i had a while back and had to return as it broke in 2 minutes.

That looks more like the thread has come out! Have you had a look in the hole to see if there is any noticeable damage and is the bike still under warranty?

Didn't realise there were different versions. The pro is the one I use
