The SRAM wheels are made by Zipp (the acquired Zipp in 2007 iirc)

Sram own Zipp but these wheels aren't made by Zipp. Sram use designs based on Zipp designs but with lower quality materials. Note, they aren't old Zipp designs or designed by Zipp, just based on. Manufacture takes place in China instead of the US.

Waldo on weight weenies works for Zipp and has posted loads of info over there.

On the Zipp site it says "Zipp makes the Sram S40, S60 and S80 carbon wheels", i just went with that. Ok, designed by Zipp and manufactured in China, but then so much carbon in cycling is like that.

Given that budget, I'd investigate that Raleigh. From the pic it looks like its been a previous mountain bike thats sat at the back of a shed, or done not a lot of demanding off-road work recently. Looks like the current owner has actually cared for it a bit.

Yeah, £50 is a massively tight budget. I got myself a SRAM X-9 rear mech for that. :o Being fitted today.

Ahh ok, so you rate the Fulcrum Racing 3's? Can get them for roughly the same price as the other 3 sets.

I do. I rate them the same as Shimano in terms of hubs.

Fulcrum are owned and rebranded by Campagnolo (for people with Shimano / Sram groupsets who don't want the name Campag on their bike). They are almost exactly the same as the Campag equivalents but usually the spoke patten is slightly different.

The do tend to be quite stiff and tyres can be harder to get on.

Specialized Hardrock Disc 2010 Mountain Bike

About to buy one of these from Evans on the ride to work scheme £400 with front and rear cats eye lights...

Anyone got one of these? Going to use it to get to work and back a few days a week and some off road at the weekends (When the family/wife allows it) was going to go for the white but I think I'll opt for the black

There are a few people on here that have bought one ^. They seem to be happy with it. Take it down to that new pump track that has been built in St Evanage ;)

Quick one guys, any opinions on the Trek 4300 Disc 2010 model hardtails?. Mate of mine is almost ready to sign on the dotted line for one on the Cyclescheme.

He was originally looking at a Cube Attention or a Revolution Triad but has now ended up plumping for a 4300 by the looks of things, this afternoon.

Rained quite heavily before I set off home from work today. Was turning into my rode and had to ride through a big puddle, and as I was turning in I saw a car so I turned a bit more sharply which resulted in my wheels losing grip entirely and I fall right into the puddle. My knee took quite a bit of the impact but I seem to be ok! Lesson learnt, don't do sharp turns in the wet...

Don't cycle through puddles; you don't know what's in there.

Unless you are off road. You are meant to cycle through puddles then. Unless of course you are racing on a trail you have never ridden before and you lose your front wheel in a 2foot deep puddle and go over the bars :o

Going up Carron Valley trails on the Cube tomorrow, will get a few pics when I'm up there. If I can be arsed I'll look out my keychain camcorder thingy and stick it on my bonce for some footage coming down the free ride "Runway" section. :D
