You may need new gear cable probably a new cassette ^

Tyre compound goes from soft and very gripy but fast wearing such as 42a, to hard and not as grippy but long wearing, such as 72a.

I would be going for winter tyres now. Panaracer Trailrakers ;)

Thanks guys.... i change the cassette first as the chainrings were changed not to long back.

Weescott - Sorry its not the compound im confused about its the ply..whats the difference between dual ply and single ply?

Thanks

Just replaced the lever blade on one of my Hope tech levers, right fiddly job!

The lever blade pushes a cam which actuates the piston on the master cylinder, with a spring inbetween the lever and cam, you have to push the cam against the piston a little bit and hold it there so the hole matches up, then hold position the lever blade with your other hand and then attempt to slide the axle/bolt through :p I hate how the alu starts to stink too when it warms up :p Oh well done now.

Me again :D

Finally sorted the headset.

Few more questions.....Ive just replaced my chain with a KMC X9L gold chain but im now finding when i pedal hard i get a clunk as if something slipping:confused: and also going over rough terrain the bike changes gear on its own.

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be the problem?

Either your cassette is worn or you have stiff link in your chain. I had exactly the same issue

Getting stuff sorted out this morning then driving up to Laggan to meet friends. Overnight stay in Aviemore and *ahem* a few sherberts this evening :D then Wolftrax tomorrow. Think the reds will suffice. I'll leave black to those who know what they are doing. :p

Funny that someone posts about exactly the same problem I experienced the other night.
New chain to replace a very old, worn one. Now chain jumping when pedalling hard, not jumping between gears, just feels like its jumping...
Just waiting on new cassette being delivered. Never changed cassette before so will be interesting. :)

Anyone know where I could buy different sized mount kits for a Fox Vanilla R rear shock?
Got one for a tenner off the bay to replace the ancient stick Giant one, which isn't allowing any sort of adjustment. (It's an old bike...) Just need to get new mount kit ordered.

My Stiffee has been stolen! :( not happy that my garage has been broken in too!
Just been on the phone with Wheelies (M&S suppliers) and said " Mr ****, Choose a bike up to the value of 4k. If you want, have 2" WTF!! :D

:D
So your bikes covered through M&S house insurance?

That's who im planning on insuring my bike through rather than dedicated bike insurance as it works out a hell of a lot cheaper.

Was your Stiffee bolted down?

Doesn't look like they have a huge choice on there site, what about the Enduro Expert Evo 2011
The cove was hanging in the bike stand with only the garage door locked.

I’m looking at the Epic Expert Evo with hope pro 2 /3 wheels. :)
Didn’t want to take the ***s, as if I did claim for the entire 4k my premium would shoot up.

Plus I want to race next year, 120mm bike would suit my riding down to the ground. I’ve always thought that 150mm was too much. I'll still be hitting the trail centres as much as possible.
Only thing I'm worried about this the shift to Sram from Shimano… much difference?
ETA on bike is mid-October.

You won't be taking the ****. Insurance is there to be used.

personally I prefer Shimano (I have X9/XO X9/X9 XTR/XT, ran XO/XO shifters/RM). The XTR shifters have a more solid feel to them over XO. Shifting wise they are both good. Just different.

That proprietary shock on the Special Ed would put me off. Can wheelies not get you other brands?

Well I’ve always said that I’ll try and stay away from sram. But was persuaded by this beauty!
Just need to wait for 3/4 weeks for this:

Stiffee may well turn up again as well, so keep yours fingers crossed......

When my mates bike (Value around £2k) got stolen and returned a month later in the same condition as it left, the insurance company let him buy it back from them for £75 after they had already paid out in full for its loss......
