I picked up a general purpose storage hook from Homebase today. I added some extra metal support (an extra 8 screws) and drilled an extra hole in the metal tube for a screw so it would support the weight of 2 big bikes. And hey presto: A rather tidy double bike hook. All for a total of £27.98!

:D

Took a trip to Dalby with Ichabod today, had fun although it was quite wet, the recent rally also made a lot of the fireroads extremely muddy, hence the state of our bikes :p

Apologies for the overexposure on the Yellow bike, I don't think my phone camera can handle horrendous looking sorry bright looking bikes :D

Also, Dalby is rather dissapointing when the last place you road was Innerleithen :(

Cool - you've got to ride the black sometime though.

I certainly will but I think I need to increase my off road skills a bit first. I found a few parts of the red were reasonably challenging so I think the black would have been a bit out of my league at this point.

Planning on hitting either Glentress or Innerleithen next. :)

Any of you folks done Ae?.

Rode it a few months back. The trail flows really well. It's easy to get a lot of speed in some sections of singletrack making it quite challenging when a jump comes out of nowhere. :D

Cool, sounds good. At this point I'm liking fast flowing stuff lots rather than tricky technical stuff. Guess I'm just a bit of a speed junkie. :p

Finally bit the bullet and ordered some new tyres: a Nobby Nic for the front and a Racing Ralph for the rear. I hope I really notice the improvement, they aren't cheap!

What are you hoping for?

I really like Schwalbe tyres and run Furious Freds, Racing Ralphs, Rocket Rons and Nobby Nics for most of my riding (XC Races and AM Riding).
One thing to be careful about is the thin side walls on the Evo range; they can tear and puncture very easily but the upside is the low weight :)

Scottish cyclocross series starts next weekend, i think i'm going to give it a go. :)
Has anyone done any cyclocross before? Im not sure what to expect really, all i have to go on is a friend telling me "mud and pain".
Sounds like fun! :p

I marshalled CX event a few years ago. They are a weird lot. XC racers who don't like the comfort of suspension and struggle over the slightest techy section. Not for me thanks!

Just a bit more confidence/grip in slightly muddy/loose conditions. My current tires are what came with the bike; specialized fast track LK. I'm sure they are great in the right conditions, but most of the places I'm going they just aren't suitable.

I've been going out with a friend who's got some Schwalbe's and the difference was clear to see; after 5 mins my tires look like slicks and his still look like they could grip, especially on the sides!

:D

Might have to get somthing like that aswell.

have head good things about: http://fibreflare.com/ although they are a little pricey...

Not too pricey, £25 from Wiggle. I'm wondering if they're bright enough, I've 2 x 200 lumen lights on the front and wanted something on the rear to match that your average boy racer is going to shout "WTF IS THAT?" and slow down rather than just shunt me off the road because he wasn't paying attention.

This is the sort of thing I'm after, but difficult to find now :(
