Cheers I'll get a pair of those then. I didn't really want to spend £25+ on a pair of cutters I'll hopefully only use a few times.

was hoping to get out tonight for a hour or so but been slashing it down all day and blowing a gale - more of the same tomorrow again!!! Not impressed.

Also CRC order is still processing after 72 hours!!!! Again not impressed with the claim of "same day dispatch" - everything is in stock and despite 2 emails - with no responses - still "processing"

your not the only one, bought my new forks thursday evening expecting an email on friday due to them saying next day del.
but they have been messing me around for a while ,i bought a 12 oz bottle of dot4 and received a 4oz bottle, contacted them and they said they would send me 12oz bottle, well over a month later still no 12oz bottle sent several emails still to get any reply from them,i also sent a set of lights to them for an rma in feb they sent me an email saying they have sent them to the manufacturer and it would take 3-4 weeks fair enough, 6 weeks later i had to email them to see what was happening they said they were going to get credit from the manufacturer and then they would contact me in 3 weeks well over 3 weeks later i sent them an email and again still have not had any reply.

to be honest after i receive the forks i will not be buying anything from them again, i have been patient and given them lots of chances to redeem themselves. i have order from them 5 times 3 times the stuff has not been nextday.

Can anyone recommend a decent saddle bag which will hold a pump thats circa 20cm long to save me mounting it on the frame?

I will obviously be carrying puncture kit/spare tube in it as well and I CBA taking a backpack or whatever on every ride, especially the short ones where I just need a puncture kit/pump just in case.

I am looking for something that wont be mega bulky and get in the way...

So I took up the opportunity to see how my fitness compared and hit Cwmcarn today for two fast laps.

It was dry, sunny and warm so totally not the best day for a clear run as every man, women, child, dog and squirrel were out.
Anyway, avoiding the carnage on the track I didn't do too badly.

First lap
At the top of the climb I was almost 2 mins ahead (0.4miles) but then on the long fast final descent I got stuck behind a big group of riders with two girls at the back going quick but really holding me up. So I lost all my lead and another minute.

Second lap
Again a few forced stops due to riders stopping in front of me on steep climbs, or groups stopped chatting with their bikes lying across the trail

Times
1st lap : 55.25
2nd lap : 58.48
Overall : 1hr 54mins

It was fun though :) :)

Ah very nice, would be good to go at it hammer and tongs with you for a LAP or a few.
Interesting looking at the HR, Seems as so I could / should have gone a lot faster as wasn't pushing 'that hard'

I noticed that as well. I should have done a warm up rather than go straight into the ride flat out. The climb doesn't give any chance for recovery once you start. Going from 67 bpm resting to 180+ bpm in 2 mins for two hours probably isn't the best preparation.

The wetest saturday on record saw us finish 10 under the ben 2nd in our category. Can't complain considering we did no training at all :p :D

Chaps - quick question re: tyre pressures. Just got back from a lap of Cannock, got some new 2.25" Nobby Nics which I was running at 30psi, but they weren't filling me with confidence over the loose stuff.

Am I running them too hard? The course was pretty much dry, a few puddles and the odd spot of mud but it's mostly hard & dry with some loose stuff in the corners. I almost came unstuck in a few of the corners and by the end I was picking my way along as it felt like I could've hit the deck at any point. This could be down to lack of skill and practise, but something doesn't feel quite right.

Absolutely NO tyre will help you on the loose stuff at Cannock. Its lethal. Especially the newer 'pebbly' sections.

30psi sounds about right, I usually run between 28-32 up front and 40 at the rear. What compound Nic are you running?
Not sure to be honest, I got them in the sale at On-One.

I don't recall seeing anything about specific compounds so I guess they're somewhere in the middle.

Glad it's not just me then! I was riding the brakes in quite a few sections and the tight corners were a little too hairy for my liking.

It's a shame as I can't see it improving really with more and more riders chopping it up. If it weren't for the pebbles then it would be a killer track, but you can't get a decent flow going on many of the sections as it's just too sketchy.
