God it's good to back up on my local, and it's actually dry!
Knackered now, but very very happy :)

I didn't expect this to happen with top of the range pedals. Cycling to the bike shop and one of the pedal bodies fell off the axel. I've only done about 3 miles max so far on them.

Pedal assembly not so super!!!!!

They're not really top of the range pedals though, just rebadged chinese stuff.

Yeah, but they're not high spec components, they're average spec/quality rebranded and with the price bumped for a bit of bling factor. You can buy the same pedals as the superstar ones unbranded for about half the price. Being expensive doesnt make them top of the range. Have just been trying to find the site, but my google fu is letting me down.

Most of the superstar stuff is rebranded and sold cheaper than its competitors so you would expect them to perform well.

They claim that is there aim anyway "Superstar Components buys parts from factories around the world, and retails them direct to the customer to avoid costs. We can offer the same products as most brands for much less than their RRP, the products the same, the quality is the same, the route to you is much leaner!"

Yes you can buy unbranded but Superstar still are cheaper than the 'big brand' alternatives (e.g. Straitline, Twenty6 etc). Just because they're cheaper that those doesn't mean they're not high spec.

Bottom line, they are high spec components.

Looks like you just got a duff pair, warranty and complain, you might get money off the replacement pair. (Oh and yeah, should have got the nano's :p mine are awesome)!

Well, maybe my wording is off, high spec? Possibly. High quality? No.

Dont get me wrong, they should perform reasonably well. I certainly wouldnt expect them to fall apart like that even if he'd paid £30 for them.

They are ultra mags. To add insult to (almost) injury they are not 8mm fittings as stated on the web site and the packaging. Bike shop confirmed they are 5 16ths....or something. Useless.

They are plenty high spec.

Its the same pedal, rebranded as: Nukeproof, Kona Wah wah, Diety ... etc all done by a company called HT components. Bad luck weescot, must have been a bad apple of the bunch. Just send it back I'm sure you can have it either replaced or refunded.
