Did the Dalby world cup course this morning, it is all fully way marked which was good.

In brief It was fun but really just felt like an extension of the red route not a black rated course as the signs say a lot of the down sections were a little meh! With most of the ups being short but steep so proper lung busters.

Worry Gill really plays on your mind its not a huge drop but is steep, took me a good 10mins to pluck up the courage. Its like going over your handlebars but then rolling out of it :p

The ride up to medusa's drop is the worst this is a long slog! From what I could work out it goes up a section of the red route which used to be a fast swooping downhill and after this mega climb the ride down medusa's drop is pretty short lived  Its then a fire road slog back up to the top by Jingleby summit and single track back to Worry Gill. Then just an up hill trail back to Dixons Hollow.

I do think it will make a good World cup course though, as the pace that they will be going round (there going to be aiming for 20min laps) I don't think they will be to fussed by boring downhill sections!

It took me about 40minutes I hate riding up hill :D

Edit: I think my recent fun at Cwmcarn, Pitfichie DH and riding down Bennachie have spoilt me! and made my favourite route through Dalby bland :(

No high speed compression adjust on the new 160s? Interesting to see them move from RC2 to RLC adjustments if that info is correct.

Edit: On the Fox web site now:

No 160mm RC2

That's becase they are on the extreme side of XC. Pitfichie DH is hugely technical. Cwmcarn is pretty easy for a DH course but hugely fun. The issue isn't that Dalby is bland but that you are riding an all mountain bike on an XC trail. Ride Dalby on a hardtail /lightweight XC bike and it will be totally different.

I think the UK needs to sort it's trail grading system out.

looks really interesting. Not a big fan of air shocks myself and personally cant see this becoming wide spread on many bikes due to maintenance etc

Janesssssy, can you take a side shot of your new stem please mate? I'm pondering a 90mm 10 degree Elite X4 and just want to get an idea of where it'll put my bars.

Cheers :)

Why is setting up gears so hard?! Or is it just that I'm the worst bike mechanic in the world? It's the nicest day of the year so far and I can't get the fricking things to work, even slightly.

I've followed this guide but they're no different! Grrrrrrrr....

It's just a pain. Two weeks in and my new bike still isn't right. I can't get it booked into my LBS either so I'm just having to keep trying.

It's all about cable tension from what I can gather, the limit screws seem to be set ok (I think).

It's so frustrating, there are only a handful of variables but despite hours of tweaking and fiddling, the chain is still all over the place. The day is wasting away :(

Gears on a road or MTB is one of the things I don't get involved in, I just let my LBS service them. It's mad, I can strip down and rebuild a 990cc V-Twin bike engine but cycle gears simply baffle me. :p :D

Yup me also lol, front mech i can do 100% of the time, but the rear....well thats like some equation that i cant figure out, ive learnt to live with my sometimes dodgy shifting because if i touch it, i know for a fact it will be worse.
