If anyone has a Costco membership they do cheap hydration packs.

I was about to buy a Mule but the other half was in Costco ad came across these.

2L bladder and plenty of space for a full day's gear. I have been able to get the following in it including a full bladder.

Pump, 2 spare tubes (in their boxes), phone, tools (mulitool, tyre levers & chain tool), gloves, snack bars, waterproof jacket, spare gloves and sunglasses.

Could easily squeeze more into it too as there's plenty of room left.

They cost £17.50 inc vat and come in several colours. Bargain if you're looking for something on the cheaper side.

Edit: The link is old but the pack is roughly the same design but looks better than the pictures.

Those packs do look very good, ROB75. Will keep an eye out for them if I'm in Costco anytime soon. Might get one for the other half as she doesn't have a hydration pack just now.

After I reserved to collect the Camelbak on the Halfords website, I didn't get a confirmation email. Thought that was a bit strange but it definitely went through as the page popped up to tell me it would be reserved to collect until tomorrow evening. Didn't print it out ( I should have I know ).

Anyway, drove through to my local store and they had no record of it on their system and none in stock at all. To be fair the guy was willing to discount a different pack down to the same price but I wanted a Slipstream. So gave up and came home. Reserved another one online but it is at a store about 11 miles further away. This time I got a confirmation email and printed it out. ;)

What's the new store you ordered it at? We did have a massive system failure today as they keep messing around with how the reserve and collect works. Hamilton store did have one or two lying about a while back but I'm not sure they're still there.

i got a puncture today,i was going round this corner about 25mph and the front wheel started sliding almost **** myself , it was the weirdest feeling having no grip on the front end.

Tesco have something similar to that here.

Trust me on this, the Tesco one has far less features, its got the more usual bladder type with the hole with the screw top, also the mouthpiece on the costco looks more better than my tesco one. I can fit a fair amount in mine, all my tools, 1 spare tube, jacket and some snacks, but the costco looks like it could hold a fair amount compared to my Tesco one.

Re-ordered at Airdrie m8. Will nip through there tomorrow and pick it up. ;)

Hey guys. I've been commuting on a Cube Analog Hardtail MTB for nearly a year now. I've decided to get serious, and get myself a proper road bike for some serious mileage on weekends etc.

I can't quite decide what to go for though. My budget is 1k (Cycle To Work Scheme) and I also need to include roughly £100 for SPD pedals and shoes (suggestions for those welcome too) and £100 for accessories (two bottles and racks, pump with frame attachment, saddle bag, tools etc).

So for roughly £800 what would you guys recommend? Since I've been riding a Cube for nearly a year I instantly had a look at the Cube Peloton but I'm biased, and know nothing about road bikes.

One thing though, looks are a factor. Some of the Kona bikes for example look like they're out of the 70's, I'm not having that. :p

Saw a good looking Bianchi bike for about £750 but any and all suggestions and advice welcome. :)

Tell me how well that works when you come to a steep section and need to get behind your saddle ;)

pfft put your seat down for the steep bits:p

i will never ever dare get right behind my seat again. not after watching a mate go straight into a tree and nearly lose his balls to the back of his seat. nearly had to get one removed at hospital:eek:

Depends how buckled it is, best bet is just to take it to a bike show and get their opinion, maybe take a photo and post it here so someone can give you an idea.
