haha :)

anyway, i'm thinking about getting a road bike soon, only thing that worries me is the brake lever position, when using the bike in an upright fashion (not bent over and using the lower curve of the bar) how easy is it to brake? Would I feel wobbley on a road bike being used to a MTB?

In the upright position you rest your palms on the top of the brake levers enabling you to change gear and brake with your fingers.
It takes about 10mins to get used to riding on narrow tyres etc

Tonight I are be mostly converting non tubeless tyres (Conti MK SS) to tubeless. 200g weight saving over the UST version of the same tyre.

Funnily enough I'm sat in the middle of swapping over one set of tyres for another, tubeless on stans. Need something with better sidewalls for a ride I've planned for Monday and some upcoming races.

Nice.

I can't recall if I've posted this before and most of you lot will have seen it anyway, but this makes me smile everytime I watch it ;-

This is going to be fun to ride.

Flats are on till i get used to it then swap back to SPD's.
Managed to ride it down my front lawn, seems the key is to relax on these things.
Still got till September to find some fitness for a sponsered ride.

That looks incredible, how long is that trail?! Wish I wasn't hungover...

No idea how long it is or where about it is located. Looks amazing though, aye. Far, far beyond my own newbie MTB skills though, but awesome to watch. :D

Was also a bit hungover this morning otherwise I would have nipped up Carron Valley for a quick blat around.

Shoei - That looks completely mad. There are a few recumbent riders around my way and everytime I see them I have to do a double take. Supposed to be the most efficient way to pedal but it just looks nutz. :p

I used to pass a recumbent trike on the way to work that had a trailer behind it..
From the quick ride down my lawn its a relaxing ride. Will have a good go tomorrow. Grass is not best.
But it does feel comfortable, need to tweak the gears though. The grip shifters are a bit tight.

how do you not fall over from a standing start?

Bring the pedals back to about how they are in the pic and with it in a low gear, a hard push on the pedal and then away you go.
Hence the flat pedals ive fitted, lot easier to push on them.

Anything to let me get fit and take the pressure of my arms.
Riding the MTB is different fish of kettles, while riding that im concentrating on the track so dont notice my arms as much. Stop and it hurts.
Road bike set up means i feel the pain in my arms to quickly. May investigate a hybrid with a more upright stem ie Cannondale Quick CX.

Did my longest ever ride today.
Cycled home from glasgow to inverness via fort william (162 miles), took me 11 hours :)
Didnt think i would be able to do it - though i would have to phone for a lift, but it was actually easier than i'd expected.
Very pleased with myself.

Stunning....im thinking of buying a used s-works 08 frame same as yours.

Its a size medium and im unsure on the size with me being 5ft 11.

What size is yours and how tall are you + leg length?

Cheers
