Undecided on the 6 beans, although 6 magic haribo jelly beans is tempting. The green rotor might end up as an Obje d'art. :D

Great I'm wanting some new Wheels from them.

Torn between the Supperlegga ones or the Switch ones. I might be getting a bigger bike so I might get the Switch ones as you can fit axles convertors to them.

Also need some Kevlar Pads.

The kevlar pads are good, but I wouldn't buy there wheels go for something more reputable and trustworthy! Not saying there bad but if they cant build a pedal right what hope do they have with a wheel

Yes. Below is a normal floating rotor compared to a [green] V2 floating rotor:

:)

What are the advantages of a floating rotor over the more conventional rotor?

As far as I understand it's a steel outer section which is riveted to a aluminium inner (spider), which bolts to the hub. The rivets allow float and movement between the two, which stops the rotor from warping under extreme heat due to different epansion rates of the metals. The design also saves weight, but the average rider wont really notice any benefits.

Ok heres a strange one for all you Avid boffins- Right you know those stupid ass domed spacers exacltly like you got on V-brakes, can i get rid of them and bolt them down just as any other make of brakes - for some reason no matter what i do i always get very uneven pad wear and i want to stop that. I for one cant see why plenty of room inside the calipers for the disc, so what ya think?

Hi folks, looking for abit of advice regarding a new bike.

Thinking of spending around £500-600, I've currently got a mountain bike that I've had for years and its abit beat up and probably on the small side for me (18" frame). I'm looking for a decent comfy mountain bike for around the price mentioned earlier; any suggestions?

I've been searching the net and I quite like to look of the Kona Fire Mountain Deluxe 2010 - is that any good? Or suggestions for better options please.

Cheers!

Ive got a race tomorrow, 12 hour enduro. If its going to be WET like i think it is, My small block 8s are going to be usless. Ive put on my new Minion 2.35 rear and high roller DH 2.35 on front. (brought these for Alps trip) but feels like Im going to get knakered in 1 lap.

so whats better, DH tires as they will give better grip or sb8's with no grip:confused:

Go for it...whats the worst that could happen? You might have to replace your pads a little sooner than you other wise would have?

(but check that both pistons are moving freely first and not causing uneven wear)
