not JY's from forres is it? he has 3 of them iirc

No, it's my brother in Law's. He's coming up the road from Aberdeen for a week so we are going to make a weekend of it. He has 2 DH bikes and 2 All Mountains (inc a beautiful Santa Cruz Blur LT)
Not sure what the other DH bike is because he's only had it a month. It's his new "baby" :p

Reminds me, anyone riden the Witches Trail at Ft William? Thinking of blasting the red on my HT. Think I have a Rock Shox Pike on the cards for it :) Depending if the deal goes through or not

A couple of people on here were meant to be coming but pulled out last week. Too scared to camp with a Hairy Scotsman I recon!

I saw the way Mark walked the day after you two lovebirds were "camping" at CwmCarn, I'd be scared too.

ps: shouldnt you be looking for a job or something?! :D

Hemorrhoids is nothing to be ashamed of, and he still managed more runs than you. :D

If the job I am going for comes through it means traveling once a month to just outside of Wales. We could meet up in the top car park at Cwmcarn on a regular basis. ;)

TF Tuned

I went to see the guys at TF Tuned yesterday. As I live locally I phoned them up, they said drop your forks off to get them booked in.
I got there at 2pm and one of the engineers grabbed my Revelations 2010 race off me and took them apart in front of me. Whipped out the 10mm spacer and pointed out the following;

1. He said rather loudly in front of everyone that I do a hell of a lot of riding as he was surprised that they were only 7 months old and going by the state of the seals.'

2. He said whatever you do...
DONT SPRAY GT85 ON THEM
put some finish line chain lube on the stanchions. And then gave me some fox float lube.

He then tried to put them together again without wiping the seals. I then asked him too politely, he said
No unless you get a service which cost £85.00
I then looked at him strangely saying that he already had the forks apart. Could you please stick your finger in and wipe them please. He then LOL'd and said
I will do one but you should really have a service

I was still a little confused by his blatant attitude trying to force me for a service.:mad:But spoke to another guy and said all I need to do is take the lowers off again and showed me how too. All in all I’m Very Pleased with the service I received. Now I’m left with 150mm Revelations Race and at least I have one clean Seal (I think the left) and new suspension oil.

Took 10 minutes and £25

Spec me please..........

Some SPDs and Shoes.

As im not getting off road as much as id like i may aswell havea try with these.

Ideall will want budget variety of both please :D

Thanks

Andy

Aaarrrgh. Looks like I killed my XTR rear mech on sunday on the Pitfichie DH run. Only about 4 rides and 80 miles old. Just what I need 3 days before my road trip.

Ouch. Mines got a few scuffs and scrapes, I;m terrified of the day that I break it, not a cheap part to replace :o

I manage to lose one of the chainring bolts from my campag compact double - a replacement set of five alu bolts is £60!?! (although a BBB set is £15 - guess which I went for?)

If only it was that simple lol no more cash till the end of the month, plus id need at least a 65mm-70mm one, and thats pretty much a Thomson i think which is a fair chunk of cash.

Edit and in the 25.4mm clamp size aswell, which is quite hard...i dont want to get new bars aswell as these are only 2 weeks old.

I did, they said it was a manufacture problem and as such i needed to contact them, which is fair enough i accept that, problem in question is the clamp area the bars sit in, is uneven and as such the bars make a creaking sound under heavy use, its still secured but creaky and putting a metal ruler on the recessed clamp area you can clearly see it aint level.

Try a plastic shim should stop the creaking. And I think the shop are fobbing you off there!

If the stem failed with use then I can see them pointing you in the direction of the manufacturer. But if you bought it faulty then they should be replacing it no questions asked. That's just very poor service.

Ninja edit by Ichabod crane there ;)
