Big Bike Thread

After copping a feel of IC's hope brakes yesterday I'm seriously lusting after a set of m4's now (or v2s, not sure). The solid lever feel is something I've always wanted, my Stroker Trails are fine performance wise but the levers feel cheap.

Anyone else think it might be worth asking for a subforum for cycling? This is the longest thread in the Sports forum, and theres been loads of new threads stated recently too.

Questions get a bit lost and stuff gets missed a bit in this thread. Would be nice to have a forum with a seperate bike pics thread, youtube thread etc etc.

Personally wouldn't want one.
Every now and then id like to just post an update - either about my bike(s) / injury/ where im riding etc, and dont want to open a new thread each time.

Hows the Deemaxs looking Supercow? My mate gets Schwalbe tyres for free so gave the dirty dan a bash. Ill be buying them from now on compared to Maxxis, very good tyres and he rates all of them good. Plus they are cheaper.

I bought a pair of Raceface Atlas bars in red today as i was pretty bored. Ill chuck a piccy up laters on :D Off to FOD tomorrow for an uplift day :D

Isn't this a Cycling thread?

Maybe a sub-forum would suffice?

Can anyone tell me what these are worth? I literally no have no idea;

SRAM PG-830, Power Glide II, 8 Speed 11-32t Cassette (V.Good Cond)
SRAM X-5 Triggers (V.Good Cond)
SRAM X-5 (8/9Spd) Rear Derailleur (Good Cond - possible slightly bent jockey cage)
Shimano Deore XT RD-M750 Rear Derailleur (Extremle Good Cond - 1 ride. Still has original grease with no dirt - its that unused)

Heres my Trance, i built it on thursday. Ever seen disc ready Mag wheels on a mountain bike? You have now :D

Love the wheels -sexy as, just ordered a new casette and waiting for the tyres to pitch up, so hopefully this time next week I'll post some pics of the bike fitted with the wheels.

I'm rding the little bike tomorrow and im hoping to be back on the big bike in another few weeks time. I'll wanna join ya for a FOD uplift!

Love my Raceface Atlas bars, but reckon I'm cutting them down a tad.
I have 760mm Boobar on my Mbuzi, which if I'm honest with myself, feels a bit better length wise.

No disrecpect, but WTF are those things?!

:D Theyre grimeca aero 3's, i found them in the back of the warehouse in work with a sticker for £170 on the box, scanned them at the till and they came up at £23, less staff discount = around £18. Bearings are smoother than my hope hubs and theyre lighter too, so im using them for any not too serious riding, then popping my atomlabs on for anything else.

I am looking for a new mountain bike. I currently have a Crackandfail Jekyll.
I fancy quality and simplicity this time around. I am 6'3" tall and I am therefore drawn very strongly towards 29er hardtails.

My shortlist so far is:

Cove Handjob with Fox fork 26er
Orange P7 26er
Gary Fisher 29er (I have read they have a huge frame failure rate however?)

or my current top favourite On-One Scandal 29er

I intend to use the bike on and off road with some cross country thrown in for good measure.

Any advice?

Good lord man, have some self respect! :D
I'd pay that money NOT to put them on my bike.

Got some more in Yellow? :p

I think ANY wheelset for £18 isn't to be sniffed at! Must be good having an uberlight second wheelset for jollying about on, canal paths/street with some skinny tires etc.

I think they look really cool actually! Makes it look like a big BMX.

I only ever mention my Trance X, and tbh, the rockhopper has been neglected a bit since I bought the Giant, but it got cleaned this afternoon, and its had a few new bits recently, so here's a pic..

Now got Mavic 717 rims on Deore hubs with Panaracer Mach SS semi slicks, Raceface Deus XC bars and stem, and a new SRAM casette. Been using it mainly to get a few miles in on the canal tow path and on cycle lanes and bridleways for fitness really, which its perfect for.

Definitely agree with having a subforum as this is possibly the longest thread ive seen here. Go on OCUK, go green with a cycle subforum!!! :D
