Cheers :) It's kinda my dream bike that I could afford. The groupset is only 105, but it seems to be fine. I highly doubt I'd see much of an improvement. I would love to have Ultegra or Dura-Ace but I suspect the only different would be weight.

I really like the current Cannondales; Synapse, Carbon Six and CAAD9 and would gladly have any one of them if I could justify it, and sneak it past the wife!

I've got 105 on the commuter and a mix of Ultegra 6600, 6700 and DA 7800 on the weekend bike. TBH if they are all set up correctly I find it difficult to tell the difference between them.

Obviously the weight is lower, but unless I drop my body fat from 15% to 5% that's not going to be an issue.

Very, very nice bike.

I have rode Shimano 105 on my road bike for years, it is a great groupset.
I too could never justify the cost of Ultegra.

Just had a quick google about and the prices only go up from £1200 not down :(

To make it worse, I need the largest frame size so it's a niche of a niche market, so there won't be many bargains about.

The plus point is I am selling my Cannondale R600 and Jekyll 600 to raise some funds.

So your budget not fixed yet then? some of the higher specced gary fishers look nice like the rumblefish

Could also look at Niner Bikes but they are frame only and expensive!

My budget was £1000 lol!

I am just after a quality 29er for on an off road riding, I even fancy dropping a pair of 700c wheels in for road rides. Suspension travel isn't top of my list.

Quick question - need a new 9 speed MTB cassette to replace a Deore HG50. Should I replace it with an identical cassette, or should I be looking at the SLX version/SRAM options?

I replaced a Sram cassette with a Shimano one so I guess it will work the other way round.

Mine was a Cannondale freehub body though.

I need a favour, I need to find somewhere with specific rear shock mounting hardware in stock, Rock Shox Vivid M6 x 21.8mm.

Anyone want to win an e-cookie?

Universal are my normal online store, but they only have a single 1 and I need 2. I buy stuff from Wiggle and CRC all the time, so don't mind where the store is :)

Rather than TFT I might give the US equivilent Push a call...

Road hubs are narrower and non-disc so won't fit ;)

The plan was to get some 700c rims built onto disc MTB hubs.
I think it would be easier to get some slick/semi slick tyres for the time being.

I have a set of 700c Cannondale Goodboy Jekyll wheels for my Jekyll.

Cant find any UK online retailers that even stock them  I recon its probably an special order item.

Anyone see Mark Cavendish's crash in the Tour de Swiss today? When I saw this live I thought he was ****ed for the Tour de France for sure, but amazingly they say he only has superficial injuries and will be back to finsh this competition.

I'm close to Mellor, New Mills and Marple so a few small trails there, otherwise Llandegla or the peaks. Been meaning to check out Lee and Crag Quarry though.

Some great riding near you then. Lee and Cragg are both excellent, once the link is in it'll be a great ride out.
