Depends what they were like before you stopped using them, you could always sand them up a little then bed them in again see how you get on.

Lol, that's top of the Crag's. If you'd gone left from where those pics are facing you'd have gone through a farm gate and back to the car park, saved you about an hour

Just a quick question. I'm having a little problem with my gears. When shifting to a higher gear on the cassette when riding, the pedals feel loose for an instant and there's a loud clunking sound as the chain goes onto the next cog. I've tried adjusting the cable tension and although i do get into the next gear, the poor shifting is really annoying. It's a Deore 9 speed cassette btw. Any ideas please?

Sounds like it could be a worn chain or rear mech needs adjusting to give more space between the jockey wheel and cassette.

Thanks. The chain is fairly new so i guess it's the mech that needs adjusting. Is it something that's easy to do myself or should i get someone who really knows what they're doing to adjust it?

It's easy to sort yourself. I take it you have put the gears into the middle at the front and set the high and low limiters of the rear mech? The mech cage should line up perfectly with the chain/cogs. Also check the rear mech position so there is 5-6mm of space between the jockey wheel and small cogs.

Not exactly the bikes this thread was designed for.. but bought myself a CR-F 450 today

Cant wait to get out to the local tracks and give it hell (or give me hell?) Playing it safe and not touching it till after france!!

Thanks. I'll have a go at it this evening. If i fail, the Evans mechanics are going to be at the bikeathon early tomorrow morning so i'll ask them to sort it. Being a sponsor, their labour charge is free.

i just did mine this evening m8 due to fitting a new crankset with lower tooth rings, took a few attempts but got it running sweet in the end

I've always wanted a Moto-x bike but I just know I'd be stupid and it would be a one way ticket to certain death

+ Running maintaining it would probably bankrupt me

looking at either a topeak pocket shock dxg or the raleigh precision ?

should mention they are the solo air toras

Gonna take my pedals+shoes and see if i can rent a road bike for a day to go up the climb from morzine > avoriaz.

Travel insurance? If so try Snow Card, i used them and are going to be using them again

Did 11 miles at Dalby today on my New Reign 2, was struggling at first on the climbs as its very different from pedaling a hardtail.

But as soon as their is a slight downhill the speed that it picked up is unreal, was very impressed with it and can't believe its taken me this long to get a FS bike.

Also my Zocchi 44 TST2's seam to be fine, no metal knocking on these bad boys.
