Golspie Wildcat again on Friday so the chances of getting one and fitting it by then are slim :)
Chain slap and rocky sections are a constant threat to my frame/big ring ;)
 
:cool: I'll go down the same route once I destroy my big ring. Some chance of that on a ride tonight with the big rocks and high winds we have here just now. :o
 
It's really windy up here just now too, although I think it's calmed down a bit since last night.
It really does get bad up at the start of the black. Completely exposed up next to the Monument (the start is called Monu-Mental....lulz)
Seriously, the rocks are so bad up there that a downhill bike would be quite at home I think.

I'm hoping they aren't too tough to fit. Prices seem rather high for these components also
 
Blackspire Stinger (dual) and E Thirteen bashguard seem to be a decent budget combo it seems.
I was chatting to another dude on here (in this thread I think) about his setup a while back. He said it did the job nicely

Boo!

My bike is in the LBS getting the rear hydraulic caliper fixed after it decided to release fluid all over my wheels :(

Wont get it back until Saturday, and i wanted to go out tomorrow, sigh!
 
Weighs in at 24lb according to my bathroom scales - not overly impressed with this tbh.

Think i ned to change the tyres and tubes to get an improvement.

Got the new rubbers for my forks today, definitely feel better. I put one and a half in and it's firmed them up so they're much better for my weight.

They make more of a clunking topping out noise now when I lift the front - I don't know if it's because of the extra rubber, or because I've put them together backwards or something :/
 
A long shot but does anyone know where i can buy valve caps (Schrader and Presta) in bulk for a very good price? Maybe 1000 or more caps. It's for advertising purposes in case anyone thinks i'm mad enough to own 500 bikes :p

Ask your local bike shop to order some from moore large(every shop should have an account to be fair). Weldtite do them in 100s and moore large distribute them.

You weren't wrong :) Fitted them today, took 18 minutes off my 25 mile time and enjoyed it even more. The lack of sound did indeed take a while to get used to!

Happy, although really looking forward to my first proper road bike now :)
