The dyno graph shows a pretty big difference, but they don't show that in that review unfortunitely.

I did manage to pick up my set with adaptors and 160mm shimano rotors for £110 from merlin a few months ago. But they seem to have upped there prices. Maybe due to recent good reviews in a couple of the mags?? I'm sure shopping around they can still be had for a similar price.

Can anyone recommend a decent All Mountain helmet? I currently have a Giro Indicator but after my epic crash last week I don't think it's really fit for use.
I really like the look of the 661 Recon?

Ok thanks. Currently running mud tyres that really aren't helping speed :p

I've not run them personally but from reading around thats similar to what people suggest is an "ideal" combination. Make sure you know what year tyre and type it is as there are a lot of different types, mind boggling at first! Performance, Evo, Snakeskin, Double Defence etc etc!

Theres some good information on the previous page(s) from people who have used several tyres depending on how many posts per page you use.

It's 55mm :) can't wait to see your Enduro too! Have you ordered it? Is it the black & white one?

I haven't ordered it yet, still need to save a bit more cash - hopefully I'll be able to order it this payday (20th) and if they are quick I'll have it before Glentress. I think I'll be needing a similar sized stem, the one fitted on the large Enduro's is 75mm!

just secured a On-one summer season frame for £87 so im over the moon, dont like the colour and there is a smidge of surface rust on a small area which is purely cosmetic, so im gonna have it blasted and powder coated next week in a colour undecided yet, either satin black or something extremely loud and in your face.

Phoned up my local powder-coater/shot-blaster and got a pleasant surprise, have been quoted £48 for the two, seems like fantastic value to me or was i overestimating the cost?

Apart from making sure they have experience with bikes and that they know to cover the bottom bracket threads etc is there anything else i need to watch for or is it straight foreword with it being a steal frame?

Good deals right there, the powder coat is damn cheap, my local one wants 120 to do mine, and as you say steel frame, cover threads and headtube etc. and your away

My Rockhopper is satin black, I don't think I'd recommend it, looked really good new, but looked really scruffy really fast.

I've got the 661 Recon. Tried some others but this one seemed to fit me the best and felt the most comfortable. The build quality is decent and it looks good too in my opinion, cheaper than some others too! :)

My missus even wanted one but I told her she couldn't have the same one as me because we'd look stupid with matching helmets!

Horrible news, pretty shocking for someone to die riding a bike, but then when you see the speeds they do wearing so little protection, so close to each other, and the sides of the road, it's no wonder. Very brave men.

On a slightly more cheerful note:

120  the place round here that coats car wheels will do a frame for 40 , sometimes cheaper if hes doing something else that colour!

and £87 for a summer season , im pretty sure i paid that exact same amount :D
