Did the clic 24 this weekend. All I can say is OUCH!

rode for 12 hours.

Hurt my knee at 110miles. I wanted to do 130miles but you can only take soo many Ibufen's.

This must have been 50miles or so as I had to take the Baggys off - getting alittle uncomfortable.

Need some advice guys.

Getting a new 10sp XT group set but I don't know what cassette size to go for: 11-32 or 11-36?

Going on a mostly XC light trail hardtail.

Depends if you prefer closer ratios or a wider range of gears, i always go for as wide a range as possible so 11-36 for me.

edit - does shimano still have a triple up front - if so get the 11-32.

Yeah its a 22/32/44 chainset.

It's a 24/32/44 Chainset. Think of the lack of a 22t ring meaning a bigger ring at the back over a traditional 9speed set up. And less use of the front mech.

11-36 for people who have real hills.

I'm still new to this - what are you saying to me? Because I'm missing a smaller front ring I need the 11-36 to make up for it? Or because it's a 10speed cassette the extra gear will cover it and 11-32 is the way forward?

Roughly speaking when moving to a 24T granny ring:

An 11-32 9 speed cassette is equal to 11-34 10 speed cassette
An 11-34 9 speed cassette is equal to 11-36 10 speed cassette

It depends how strong a climber you are and the hills you climb. It's really personal preference. A safe bet is always to go big though I guess.

Ordered the Enduro today, should be here on Wednesday/Thursday

Now then, I took my Superstar Nano thru pin pedals off the Pitch before selling it and I just remembered I've lost the destructions which tell me the difference between the left and right pedals - IIRC it's the left pedal with the groove on the axle but I can't remember. Does anyone else have the thru-pins and is able to tell me which is the left and which is the right?

Check for an L or R on them, otherwise they'll only thread into their respective crankarm.

Groove on the left.

Went to cannock yesterday to try my new nobby nics.....Went with tubes in the end after receiving the 2.25 for the back with its paper thin side walls which i didn't fancy without a tube.

Found the front 2.4 ORC compund a little un-predictable ...maybe its cannocks marble like pebbles but the front end was washing out especially on the lower cliff short downhill bit.

For those with Nobbys what sort of pressures are you running?

I'm not running NN's anymore (sold 'em with the Pitch) but I was running 30psi front and back for everything and they seemed to be okay.

I'm using a different compound and UST have a much thicker sidewall.

Running them at anything between 28 and 32psi.But have run them much much lower.
