What makes you say that? At the moment im swaying towards the V10 c. Tbh I haven't ridden bike yet but I currently own a v10 and prefer the feel of VPP to other FSR suspension bikes that I have ridden.

The Demos come in nicer colours than the TDL, I'll get tired of it quickly.

Also, the V10c ... it just too, erm "Gucci" for me. I hate to use these words BUT "At the end of the day" most bikes at the very top end V10C/Demo/Turner/Makulu/Demo/Session/Summum/etc are al much of a muchness - they are all phenominal bikes, with slightly different characteristics, which you need to figure out is most suitable to you.

The ones I've ridden:
Makulu: Never ever under or overreacts to anything, gripmonster that goes about it's business.
Demo: Grip monster, loves to jump more than any other
Session: I hated the session, way too "skippy" for me, though other people love that.
Turner: Not had enough time on it to judge
V10c: The one I rode was too big for me so I can't tell, but some reports say that it could be better over the square hits
Summum: Great fun ride, loved it. Very slack and low, but it just works.

For me, between the Demo and the V10, I'd take the demo because of it's cornering and it's liveliness.

Jokes and sales pitch aside, you are more than welcome to give my bike a go, I can promise you it will blow your preconception of suspension systems out the water. Mine's "just" a single pivot, with a super low leverage ratio (due to the linkage).

Try the Makulu, go on ;)

So I woke up this morning to find my shed had been broken into and my canyon gone. :(

No insurance so guess I'm in the market for a new mtb.

I can't afford another canyon right now so going to need something a bit cheaper. Can anyone recommend me something for around the £300 mark? Main uses will be for exercise and getting to work. I go offroad on the way to work down some old dirt lanes. Needs to be reasonably light as I need to be able to carry it over some fences. :p

I can't see past the hope stuff to be honest! Changed all 5 bearings in a pro 2 the other day with relative ease. Spare parts are easy to come buy aswell.

I've got to source bearings for a zipp copy made by felt. They decide to use different sized bearins on each side which is annoying. Spare parts? They took a freehub body off a "cannibalised bike" to get me one...

Surely I can just swap the hub out of my existing spark wheels for a hope hub??

Looking for some tyre advice!!!

Currently running Continental Mountain Kings which are really not the type of tyre for this time of year! I'm looking to do some of the Gorrick spring races so need something to cope with the February/March mud but at the same time not be too slow.
Also is it worth going straight out and buying a pair? or worth just starting changing the rear and going from there?

My main problem at the moment is that my current tyres are 2.4s and the frame on my focus doesnt leave much room for mud so it gets all clogged up and blocked around the chainstay/bottom bracket area.

Thanks!

You must have household insurance? If there are signs of forced entry you will have no issues in making a claim, and the Canyon you linked to is a mid range one at £500 so won't necessarily have to have been named on the policy.

Tough decision time.....should I get a V10 carbon frame or the Troy Lee Demo 8 frame.....?

I wasn't too keen on the Troy Lee Demo until I saw this;

Kinda regret getting my red & black one now.

I think your heart's set on a V10 carbon though. ;)

Have a look at the Panaracer Fire XC Pros. They are small volume tyres much like the MK's. Quite a popular race tyre. Also the Racing Ralph 2.2 might be worth a look. But if you are having mud clearance issues with the 2.4 MKs they might be too big.

For complete mud fest tyres try the Bontrager Mud X or Panaracer Trailraker.

I would look at replacing the front tyre first. If the back end slides out then you can control it. If the front goes then its one tattie over the side. Buy one tyre. See if you like it first.
