That Slayer is about 3 generations old and way overpriced. From what I remember they are on the large size and heavy. It's an FSR design (RM got round the patent). So it's decent enough.

The GT is...meh.

Why not a fan of the GT? I think it looks a little better than the Giant Anthem x i posted earlier and a little cheaper.

GT haven't made any great bikes in years. I'm not saying they are bad, because they aren't. The i-drive system is overly complex and never really worked....IMO.

Got my wheel back.. But the nipple thingy they replaced is silver.. I want my red one back. :( Sticks out like a sore thumb! :(

Would you go with the Giant Anthem X over the GT then? Giant Anthem has smaller travel but does get better review whereas the GT is 100£ cheaper but has more travel.

Just need something to get up ok and downhill a little comfier than my hardtail

My 661 Shin/knee guards turned up today so hoping go to Grizedale next weekend.

noticed this http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1035325/ which i do like, gets quite a good write up but can't say i've ever seen anyone ride one.
and this : http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1032109/ which is cheaper

personally i'd go for this http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1046007/ over the two you posted.
you could take a punt on this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Giant-Rei...ikeparts_SR&hash=item4163d30e2b#ht_526wt_1396 horrid colour but decent frame.
or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Corsair-M...keparts_SR&hash=item2c63ede7d6#ht_1448wt_1396

I do like the specialized but its a large frame and im 5'10 so maybe a little bit of a push

Don;t like the giant :(

Put a bid in on the corsair one as it looks great, any idea what it's actually worth? Stuck a max bid of £300 in for now

Chainreaction have let me down yet again, paid for next day by 1pm delivery and its not here. Think its my last order with them.

i said this ages ago, i can live with the slow delivery but i've experienced bad customer service, them sending the wrong items (twice), very slow RMA (six months)and the hacking scare, all that and i've only ordered of them six times. i think it's fair to say i will never be using them again unless they are a big chunk cheaper then anywhere else.

I normaly go with the free delivery and dont care when it turns up, but the house is empty except for me at the minute so needed a next day service.

Funny enough just had an email from chainreaction! I emailed them on the 17th as my couple of week old cassette had a ring crack when i was @ Grizedale and wanted to see if it was under warranty, they've advised they'll send a new one out and i don't have too send the old one back. not bad customer service i dont think (had some places make you send the faulty bit back first)

must admit that i get the feeling they are getting to big to cope. I've had 3 orders of instock items over the last year from them - all supposedly with free next day delivery - all ordered in the morning and none of them turned up next day - in fact one of them was 5 days just to dispatch and they couldn't even tell my why that was.

Went over Aston Hill this morning, beautiful weather. Only made 4 runs, mates bike chain snapped on two different occasions and a crash with a tree left his rear brake splurging oil which cut the day short! He is off on a cycling holiday tomorrow too so some last minute repairs for him  First time I had been there since the work started on DH4, looking cracking!
