It's NOT rapid-rise, should I be worried? I've never understood rapid rise, I like to fly through the gears sometimes so will I notice it slower with this?
Rapid rise is no faster at shifting than a normal derailleur. A normal derailleur spring pulls it down (to the smallest sprocket), that means that you have to push against the spring to shift up and you can shift down to a harder gear very quickly as the spring will pull it down.
A rapid rise is the opposite, the spring pulls it the other way. So you can shift very quickly to an easier gear.
