It's NOT rapid-rise, should I be worried? I've never understood rapid rise, I like to fly through the gears sometimes so will I notice it slower with this?

Rapid rise is no faster at shifting than a normal derailleur. A normal derailleur spring pulls it down (to the smallest sprocket), that means that you have to push against the spring to shift up and you can shift down to a harder gear very quickly as the spring will pull it down.
A rapid rise is the opposite, the spring pulls it the other way. So you can shift very quickly to an easier gear.

Just picked up my new baby!!! :D

Now to get used to it, so! different than my Hardtail!

Sexeh!

That looks great fun, though certainly not a DH track.

We were advised NOT to try the new black run without full face and certainly NOT on my plastic bike. But going by that vid it looks ok....Even for me.

Although my gopro does make the steepish little descent near the end of hully gully at gisburn look flat.

Oh well best get ready for the helicopter ride

Have a look at the other videos online of the trail, it just doesn't look like theres any really hard bits. Good for a beginner like me i reckon.

ordered some more stuff from chain reaction on monday, still processing even now, sure it used to be same day despatch, least i opted for free delivery so not really fussed.

re forks, love my marzzochis there just heavy.

What a BEAUTY!!!!

Always like the look of the Giant Trance and they seem to get the colours spot on as well mostly. When I can afford a full suspension I think that's what I'll end up with if it's suitable.

you guys bother with any bike magazines? Haven't brought one since i was doing a paper round (10-11 years back!), was thinking of grabbing a subscription.

I buy them occasionally when I like the look of the features, has some good routes in there and a decent free gift like a beanie or a pair of socks. :p

There ok but there not something I would ever each month as they tend to recycle a lot of material and a lot of it can be read on the internet anyway. I do like reading magazines though.

I get Dirt magazine most months, good to keep up with the Downhill World Cup circuit and riding spots popping up in your area :)

A very Downhill based magazine though, never any XC stuff in there, but I reckon as Enduro is about to explode there will be A LOT of stuff about it in there :)

Weird, you sure it's in stock?

I placed an order this morning at 8am, got an email just after 5pm saying it had been despatched and expecting it tomorrow.

Also placed an order last Thursday evening, despatched Friday and received Saturday morning. Always impressed with CRC!

Reading the manual for my front forks and it says the max tire size is 2.2 x 26 which is a bit crappy and odd as mine are Maxis Advantage 2.25 and still have some clearance.

Also states that the max brake disc size is 7" which is also odd as online conversion says this is something like 177mm? Presumably this wont have much issue with an extra 3mm diameter disc?

I quite like my front forks (got some cheap marzochi 22's) for what i use them for so wasn't planning on upgrading them this year!

Shamelessly plucked from a friends FB account: Some pics of a bike park about 2hrs away from me.

Balnain bike park :)

Scary place :P I went there once but everything is way beyond me. There's not actually a lot of 'trails' which was disappointing. (I guess thats why it's called a 'park' rather than a 'trail centre') There is a lot of northshore/log rides and 1 or 2 big jumps (like the gap over the trail in your 4th pic) and the fun box.

You cant really tell from the pics, but some of that northshore stuff is really skinny and it's about 6ft up!

looks like one item is out of stock, wasnt when i ordered though, im in no rush but they definitly take longer these days.
Same here, they're beginning to annoy me.
I placed an order for 2 pair gloves and a helmet for the Mrs last Wednesday morning, paid £10 for next day del thinking they'd be despatched same day as all were in stock... They were still processing Monday morning so I cancelled the order! I saw that One pair had mysteriously vanished from the listings, so thats what was holding things up.

Re did the order for free delivery with just one pair of gloves, and noticed that the vanished glove size had reappeared!! that was Monday lunchtime, now this order is still Processing but all items are in stock!! Go figure....

Edit: scary stuff those wood "features"!
