Be interesting to hear how you find it compared to a RP23, when i run my sag correctly it still uses all the stroke too easily.
Quiet like the white as well.

That's a very common issue, do you have a high volume air can? Fox make a volume reducer kit that will allow you to alter the spring rate.

Need some help here, the company has signed up for the cycle to work scheme which has ignited a new interest in bikes.. I looked at it last year and decided against it because I couldn't get a rack to fiit my car :( but with the renewed interest I'm going to order a bike on the weekend.. problem is I don't know what to get.

It will be used to cycle to work - approx 6 miles on road each way and on some dirt tracks etc on the weekend.

For whatever reason I'm drawn to the Cube brand and based purely on looks I like the LTD range.. problem there are lots of variations the LTD range and I've not idea what the difference is or if I'm even looking in the right area? whats the best based on above criteria??

I think the C2W scheme has some limit on price but I'm not to bothered about price I'll just buy it anyway if need be..

Cheers

shameless bump of above question as I'm going to the bike shop tomorrow :)

I've owned a Cube Acid 2010 from brand new and its been an excellent introduction to mountain biking. I don't use it on the road though as I have a Pinarello roadbike for tarmac and commuting but I have used it a few times on my 32 mile commute and it was "ok" but felt like a fully laden barge compared to the Pinarello, obviously!!.

As an intro bike to trail riding I can't fault it. Cube's are well specced and IMO they are amongst some of the best looking bikes on the market. The finish on them is sublime, the paint especially is top notch. Mine has stood up to a good bit of use over the last couple of years on my local trails at Carron valley and at Glentress, Laggan Wolftrax and Golspie's Highland Wildcat. It has been 100% reliable with no issues to report. A mate bought a LTD at the same time I got my Acid and he has had a similar ownership experience as I have.

Cant fault a Cube, 1 of my mates has a 2011 Ltd Pro (which used to me mine) and also owns a 2012 AMS 110 Pro and the other has a carbon hard tail Cube which is called reaction I think and he also has an AMS 130. So they both bought hard tail Cubes and liked them so much they bought there bouncier off spring. The paint jobs on Cubes have to be the best out there too, look stunning.

Thanks, what's the difference between all LTD variations ie LTD, LTD Pro, Race, SL, CC etc.? as I don't know what I'm looking at I'm not sure which one is best suited to my needs.. they all look similar to me

Where's a good place to have a look for second hand bikes/frames etc? Wanting to build a cheap single speed and wanting to avoid eBay for bits really :). Anyone recommend frames ideal for this? Looking at the On-One Pompino currently.

Off up Cannock Chase in the morning - any conditions reports? probably getting there for around 09:30... haven't been for ages so won't be breaking any records :)
Was there this morning, was really fast. With the rain we've had up until last week it's made it very loose in sections. The upper & lower cliffs on the monkey were fantastic today though.

SO happy to be riding at the moment. Feeling back on form and just loving every second :D

Been experimenting with my set-up and been riding mates' bikes a lot over the last 3 days - from 224 evos, to the new Devinci wilson, to Session 9.9s to get a feel for other set-ups. I feel that I tend to ride my own bike as it is and don't really get an understanding of what I like, I just ride the bike like it is. Got my CCDB SPOT ON after farting about with it, and the bike is absolutely shredding - gets drifty and rowdy when I want it, but it always does it in a composed manner and sticks to the ground when I need it :D

I've also spent a lot of time DH'ing with an CCDB equipped Orange 5 today, that was WAY oversprung for me and much too fast in rebound... BUT BUT BUT - it was incredible, plain and simple.

I'll probably get ridiculed in this thread and I do not give a sh!t. That little bike was furiously fast and it's given me a good insight as to why I have a love/hate relationship with my Tracer 2. Suspension design comes in such a distant/ low position on the list of important frame design factors for me it's unreal. I have a long torso and very short legs, so standover height and TT length is vital. The 5 p!ssed all over the Tracer in those two areas (personally).

Now to make the hard decision to go for an Orange 5 or my Sukuma as planned ...

Amazing ride at Cutgate this eve, its bone dry, can see for miles. Monarch is running nicely, got a good pedal platform with about 25% sag, the mid compression setting is ace for putting the power down.

Obligatory bike shot

supercow.... lol :D just do it man, imagine having the same amount of fun on the trails as you do on your Makulu. No point having a bike you don't enjoy, get rid before they bring a new one out :P try a Covert first though...

To be honest, I want a little bit less travel out back, so 140 - 150 is what I'm looking for.
Does anyone know how to measure stand over, if said measurement has not been given?
Don't think it's possible?

Ps: the transition guys had the carbon covert stolen, so I don't think they will be keen to come back to the uk :)

Not happy at this stowaway I found today.

I felt something bite me on my ride, but my legs were so splattered in mud I couldn't see anything. Found it later in the shower
