Everytime I ride the carbon 456 I think I'm going to break it, stupid I know, and as I said before, after riding on one it just felt that bit snappier. I may feel differently when I build it up and regret it..

So are sending me out a whole brand new boxed one:D And its left handed so can mount underneath the bars.


Need some wider bars and a blingy stem. But as my chain now has 2 sram links in (it snapped at the weekend) I need a new chain and cassette.

Question for the thread folk - how much should I ask for this?
I don't know a heck of a lot about the bike but the pic of it is should give you a good idea of the components. It's just sat in the garage and I can do with the space.

It has an x7 shifter/deore mech, though no front derailleur/shifter.
It also needs a little TLC in the crank department. It screws tight with a nut of some sorts, but it come loose after a little while.

Cool, was wondering whether I was aiming too high as I had posted it on SDH/RIO but no one was interested. Wasn't sure if it's the demographic or whether I'm asking too much.
 
You probably just need to find someone who's handy with bikes, that wants it as a cheap 'commuter' bike.

That said, would it not fetch more for parts? 'Retro' frame gotta get you £50 surely...

Wheels and forks should get a few quid here and there, and the tyres could be sold separately - apparently some people still use them for off-road! :eek:

Oh, and LOL @ £1500 full sus. Perhaps it's a mis-print and he actually said £150?

my arch ex/hope 2 wheels have just arrived from Moonglu. Sitting in a box behind me in the office after my 1st day back from holidays.:D:D

They looks great - will get them on the bike asap. Pictures to follow later

The new Soul has a 31.6 seatpost size so might be worth considering. It's a bit expensive at £500 though.

I am currently building up a Mk1 soul and fitting a X-fusion HiLo to it. Still waiting for parts at the moment though so no pictures yet. Will post some pictures once I'm done. I have a Reverb on my FS so should be able to do a good comparison.

My original idea of a wet weather "cheap" hardtail has turned from an old orange ev06 to a Soul with quite good components. Should be quite good once I'm finished.
