Oh look, I maded a Meme

Just spoke with someone who was there.

He was wheeling it down for Brayton, but the crowd jeered him on to have a go. He did and grabbed the brake before the whoops. Unfortunately for him, the English run brakes the other way around than Aussies...and that was the result.

ps: Yes...one bottle of Vino down :p

Went to Gisburn today - did "the 8" red route - nothing too extreme, nice day out. Did the loop twice as at only 18km long it's not really a decent days ride doing it just once.

Possibly the slowest run down Hully Gully you'll ever see (it was pretty rutted in the braking area)!

And yes, I did giggle like a school girl the first run down!

Was reading some of the comments on PB earlier, they said aus and UK brakes are same side?

The mate I spoke to probably heard as much as you and I. He works in the pits, so got his info second hand as well.

I think the Aussies do run it the other way around, couple other Antipodeans I know do anyway.

Yeah they do.

I think it depends on which side of the road the country drives on. UK and Australia both drive on the left so they use the right hand as the front brake. Its your road side hand which would be used for signalling when riding on the road as its considered safer to use the rear brake when signalling.

I dunno how much further up the track that guy was when he took Braytons bike but I imagine he would have used the brakes before his crash. Whether he was helping outing by taking the bike to the bottom or not only a moron would attempt to ride that track without a helmet.

8 NM minimum is too great i think for a bike, my saddle clamp and stem bolts are 4.5 NM max, brake levers 7 NM max, cable bolts 3.5 max etc.

all my headset, seatpost etc is 5NM
I use a

Looks like he didn't nick the bike and nothing to do with a brake mix up either:

Ok everyone, this is Ben Bunny McGowan, he is the reason I got a 2nd run yesterday and I just chatted with him about his injuries. He has 2 broken vertebrae and a dislocated shoulder, (in his words"all fixable") he was doing @adbrayton a favour by taking his bike to the bottom, he didn't steal it!!!! The rumours are now cleared up and I want to say heal fast Ben, no probs about my re run!! I needed it. Cheers

lol it looks like it was video'd on a potatoe the quality is so bad :D

Contour ROAM2 - 720p action but I compressed it a lot for Facebook upload originally :-) Plus, I need to sort a better mount out that doesn't rattle.
