I'd have opted for the same combination, but the 2.4 width in stead.

I think it's superb that they offer full tubeless setup as well right from the off. Very impressive.
Love the look of the Aeries and would buy a frame only but with a decent set of 26" hopes wheels, I can't be arsed trying to break my existing one down and sell it all off to get a 650b bike.
I'm in exactly same position.
I have hope rims too and every new bike coming out is a 650b
I was thinking of buying new rims and getting my hubs laced into them but would be same price as new set of wheels.
I might buy a new bike fully built and just sell mine off.

, I know nothing about Maxxis tyres. Any suggestions on what setup to go for?
Was thinking high roller front and ardent 2.25 on the rear.

Good idea. The High Roller 2 is good but a little draggy. No need for a 2.4 rear. It's overkill.
The wife switched out the High Roller 2 on the back of the Solo for a Mountain King Protection but kept the 2.35 HR2 up front. Much better set up.

I've always been under the impression grippy front, fast(er) rolling on the rear.
Choices are -
Rear;
Maxxis High Roller II EXO TR 2.3
Maxxis Minion DHF 2.3 EXO TR 3C MAXX TERRA
Maxxis Minion DHRII 2.3 EXO TR 3C MAXX TERRA
Ardent 2.25 EXO TR Dual Compound Folding.
Ardent 2.4 EXO TR Dual Compound Folding.
From some reading about the High Roller seems to be held in quite high regard?

I've run with an Ardent 2.4 on the front for a couple of years, think they weigh about 860g and I've not had a single problem running them at approx 22psi..Ha, now to decide between the two! I assume the Ardent is faster rolling than a HR2?
I was looking at the Spectral as well as the Aeris, but What Mountain Bike magazines's review of the 2014 Spectral said that the frame was small and you may want to think about sizing up.
It makes me nervous to order a bike from Germany if I can't be sure that I'm ordering the correct size.
Which hoy ree tops are people buying, wondering if it was just the seller I used had iffy sizes.
