*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

For bloods these are all ones I've used at one point or another. Medichecks, The blood lab, E-val blood analysis, Youth revisited, Optimale, Randox.
There's loads out there they're all basically resellers for the actual testing labs of which there's only a handful so in most cases pick whoever is cheapest for what you want to test as they all end up in the same few path labs anyway.

Actually that's a great shout, a lot of TRT specialists offer quite cheap kits - the only thing you need to do is find a nurse or your local GP to take the sample. DO NOT TRY AND TAKE A VENOUS SAMPLE YOURSELF!

What you CAN do, is if you give blood get them to take the samples then, but that requires timing! I've done that twice, it depends on the blood bank, I know the staff at mine and they're always amenable to it but probably breaking the rules doing that, but shhhhh.
I'd considered doing that before but never actually given it a go, might ask next time I go in.

Optimale are very cheap for a pretty comprehensive panel and there's normally a 10/15% off code that pops up first time you visit their site. They can book you into some Superdrugs to have your blood drawn as well.

I have a free blood test thingy through work, but they sent a vile to fill and some stabby things... but when I stabbed I could barely get any blood out, definitely wasn't going to fill a vile, so gave up... :(

I'm not sure if they're allowed to do it, but once the needle is in they have a diverter valve and always take samples for disease screening, but I'm charming :D

Are optimale any good? Maybe I'll try them next time.

The finger stab ones are generally a bit rubbish, as you've found it can be difficult to actually get the required amount of blood out and I've also found the results inconsistent with venous draws I've had done at similar times.

I do not possess your level of charm but hey the worst they can say is no :D

Yeah absolutely fine, like I said it all goes to the same lab a lot of the time anyway and as Optimale are primarily trying to sell people TRT they are pretty quick at getting the results emailed out to you once they're back from the lab.

So you don't need to be on TRT or agree to become a TRT customer?

Averaged 88.09kg over the last week - that’s a whole week within the “normal” BMI range at 24.9. Quite pleased with this result!

Next steps will be to increase protein / gym input but try to keep the rest of the diet the same, or similar at least. Relaxing calorie intake completely will probably not end so well! This has been the most success that I’ve ever had with changing my diet and actually seeing results!

@Freefaller - the blood analysis and personalised nutrition sounds excellent, but I’m concerned that it’d be a bit wasted on me as I can’t hope to achieve the volume of training right now. Baby steps…

Put these together the other day, almost exactly 2 years between them.
265lbs down to 212lbs just before my wedding last August, then back up to 236lbs when my daughter was born at the end of march down to 217lbs as of the other day.

Talking of my daughter it's her fault I've been up since 0245 this morning and therefore just half asleep mindlessly eaten a whole small box of maltesers :o
