Specifically in this case, the BBC reported that Trump had called the people who stormed the government building "patriots" in a tweet.
He did say exactly that in a tweet, he also said they were special and to go home in a tweeted video. His original tweet got him his first 12 hour ban.
What he actually said was that the 75 million people who voted for him were patriots. He specifically stated the 75 million figure. He was explicitly referring to everyone who voted for him. Not the people who stormed the government building.
He also said that, and the BBC reported both accurately.
Mr Trump was locked out of his account for 12 hours on Wednesday after he called the people who stormed the US Capitol "patriots
After being allowed back on Twitter, Mr Trump posted two tweets on Friday that the company cited as the final straws.
In one, he wrote: "The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!"
