Have been up since 4:30 AM today for an early start to work. Went for a little ride on my break to get relaxed. Rode 50 mins in fact on local B roads.

Only hairy moment was when I saw what appeared to be a Polo in my lane while I was on 50 mph (NSL). I did brake hard followed by a beep, and the driver moved back in. I can't fathom how stupid it was for this young driver to do that overtake on narrow country roads, can only put that down to inexperience and hormones buzzing about in the body.

Not sure how but once the situation was under control my hand automatically gesticulated the wear your seatbelt action. I swear I have never done it in UK, maybe I have crossed the rite of passage for being a UK Motorcycle rider now. :D
FYI NSL is 60 on single carriageway and 70 on dual, so you could be missing out on extra mph :P.\

Also yes, I try to prevent myself reacting to idiots as I know one day I might do it to a proper mental person and regret it.

@Captain the 1290 is such a lovely engine!

Sorry, I meant I was doing 50 in a NSL 60. That part of stretch is not really 60, it can be if one is stupid enough. I was momentarily on 50.
And yeah, I don't react to idiots but it just happened very quickly and was scary. I just came around a bend (wasn't a sharp turn by any means) and accelerated only to see that in front.
If I was a second or two quicker I was crapping and a second or so slower it would have give this guy incentive to complete the double car overtake.

I will learn with more riding to not react. :)

He's finally manning up and buying a Vespa.
How about this as an alternative to Vespa? :D

Don't tell anyone. But I sat on the Honda ADV 350 scooter at a show recently and really liked it. I'd love one. Guilty pleasure.

Mate it's a game changer. Let me know when you're free and I'll pop by on mine, you can have a little play.

This was on a FarcePox group, it's £25. Ideal if you haven't got an outside tap, or can't be bothered to get the hose unravelled to give the bike a quick hose off. Bucket of water, feed hose in, job done. You can run warm water through it as well. Advertised as a "pressure washer" it's low powered, but that's good as it won't get water into places you don't want. Twenty five quid. Delivered from Ebay. With two batteries. Snow foam type thing included works ok. Yes, it feels flimsy and cheap, but who cares. Twenty five sobs!

I have no idea why but mopeds are 1000% more terrifying to ride than motorbikes.

There's that odd feeling off just sliding off on ever corner.

It's been a while since I've ridden one but with the pot holes these days I bet those little wheels are a night mare?

Do you throw the filter end in a bucket?

Yes indeed you do.
Took the bike for her ticket this afternoon and typically it chucked it down. Got home, filled up a bucket and quickly hosed the worst of the crap off. Quick and easy and no faffing about with a garden hose :)
