I phoned insurance at lunchtime and they assured me that the payment would go through today. It hasn't.

If, I don't put my helmet before my gloves, its fiddly and I'm usually the last to be ready to ride. But, without my gloves I'm getting faster at doing the D-Lock. Still hate it... it might be safer but I hate it! :(

BTW They'll send me spare parts for the helmet, looks fairly easy to swap them out. I'll see if that helps...

Apart from that, O oiled up my chain, checked tyre pressure and all the other checks I do every Friday. :)

I notice one cut on my tyre, not sure how deep it is... I think it might be from the last 2 sunny days as my bike is parked on stones in my garden.

It doesn't affect the tyre pressure, I can't see any bubbles on that cut either. It must be a small cut?

I always get a few of those small cuts on every tyre. They're fine. Just a sharp stone or something I guess.

I swear I'm going to start carrying a bat with me, the amount of ***** who sit on my back wheel when I'm doing the speed limit is getting silly now, at least 3 times today they've put me in danger trying to overtake or force me to speed up, they'll get the hint soon enough that getting too close will make me slow down..

I find firing flames at them helps ;)

Did my CBT today, don't think I've ever sweat so much!

Great fun though, shame it's another 6 months till I turn 24. The other guy started falling back on a dual carriageway at one point as I was tucked in doing an indicated 73mph :D

So its not just my tyre, that's good to know. Its not losing pressure, over the week its the same. Sometimes it drops by 1psi, but that's nothing major. :)

I hope we hear from wazza shortly... :(

I got carried away and lost the instructor with the other guy, he just in time told me to wait somewhere as it was cutting out. :p

Sounds normal, different temperature etc. As long as it doesn't consistently lose xPSI (always check when cold), then it's ok.

If it does leak, Goop works nicely.

Petrol station is probably around 2-3 miles away, 40mph so the tyres don't really get a chance to warmup that much and I usually fill up first than ride up to pump them up.

Yeah it's like holding on to the side of a plane taking off.

:D

That torque man :D

I find it interesting how bikes and parts change hands, I linked a cheap Tuono not long back which was up for sale privately for £3500, bit of a bargain as it had arrow cans and aprilia performance rearsets, which are £250 just for the rearsets. I go to have a look at a Tuono in a dealer today, up for £3999, it's the same bike, only with standard cans and standard rearsets!

A 30 second search on ebay and I find the arrow cans and the rearsets, both for sale from a completely different seller, but who is not a million miles away from the dealer who now has the bike...

A bit more digging, and yep - the dealer is obviously buying bikes in, stripping any good parts off them and selling them separately. There's a full akra system from a CB1300 from the same seller, the bikes is for sale with the dealer. Same bike in the pictures in both auctions...

Not illegal, but a bit low, IMO.

Any tips for passing horses while being noisy? I passed 4 at once today and held the clutch in a bit but I seemed to slow down too much.

Went to go have a look at a Tuono up for sale privately near me, the guy was a top bloke and let me have a quick test ride.

Result: I want one. :D Maybe not that one as it was a standard R model and i think I'd regret not holding out for a factory model.

However, riding it was awesome, it is one really well sorted bike. Comfy - I reckon I could ride it all day without issue, maybe just needing some slightly lower pegs. Less wind blast than my CB400, but still some to remind you how fast you're going.

Power - plenty! :D Shedloads of grunt from 4k rpm. It was on 15/42 gearing so a bit more lively than the standard 16/40, motorway cruising was effortless too, 85 (kph ;)) felt like 60.

It had the standard fit akra cans, which most come with - with my earplugs out it was a nice noise, not too loud and a nice bark when you blipped the throttle. 10 minutes in and I was rev matching perfectly without issues, the throttle was set up to perfection (it had been serviced by Aprilia Performance not that long ago).

Handling was brilliant too, so well planted in the corners. Not quite as flickable as my little CB but much stable and confidence inspiring.

The only issue was how easy it was to be doing naughty speeds on NSL single carriageway roads! But then that's going to be the same for any 100bhp+ bike, I'm used to 70mph being accompanied by 7000rpm in 6th gear, not 4000 rpm.
